Bottle. Deep coppery color with a small white head. Spicy aroma, sinnamon and clove maybe. Lots of spice in the flavor as well. Nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Poured nicely with a good size head. Aroma of spices and yeast (no elephant dung though - what a shame). Spices, malt and caramel on the tongue (still no elephant dung). The 10% alcohol in this is not that apparent, so it’ll hit you hard - and thus, the pink elephant (without dung).

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2006 This is a surprisingly good Belgian. On tap, hard to tell what color it was due to poor bar lighting. It was dark copper maybe. Has a great aroma of hops and yeast. First Belgian I’ve had that you can actually taste some hops. Quite tasty. Gets ya drunk...(RERATE) Had it again out of the bottle and it still rocks. This is like Belgian Strong meets IPA. I can’t get past this. ps. you get one hell of a buzz if you take on a 750ml of this.

Flavors of caramel, brown sugar and some dried fruit with some spice and belgian yeast character. Noticable alcohol with an abrubt finish. Dry texture and a lighter body. Similar to Stille Nacht, but not nearly as good.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Vintage 2005. In the bomber bottle. Pours a reddish brown color with a yellow ocher head. Just a beautiful beer in the Tulip- walls of lace and contrasting colors. Aroma is fruity- D’Anjou pears and bing cherries. The malty sweetness is clear in the taste, but there’s enough tart bitterness to allow it. Slightly medicinal, but whoo boy, the big flavor here is a super strong cherry taste. The finish is at first a little bit smokey, but you can’t really tell after a couple of swallows. The residual alcohol burn lingers in the alimentary canal long after all other senses have subsided.

Bottle 2004, rated 2005. Tasted this beer last year but didn’t add it to ratebeer. Alcohol is more pronounced than what i remember from last year, but still a very good christmas ale (still, 10% alc..). Smooth texture and a lot of different christmas spices.

From bottle at Cafe Delibere. Dark brown colour, off white rocky head, no lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, dark fruits, grass, orange citrus, raisin, light alcohol. Flavour is spicy and malty, medium bodied, more sweet than bitter. More malty medium-lenght finish, but not very pronounced. Alcohol is well-hidden.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Medium head on pours but goes thin quickly. Very bubbly. Yeasty malt aroma and caramel coloring. Spice is at front with caramel malt in back of it mixing with a cheese yeast in a lovely balance. Very unassuming 10% alcohol is very well hidden. Slight warmth at finish.
