On tap into chalice, pours a dark brown/amber with 1 finger off white head. Smells of some sweet dark fruits, plums, raisin, apple nice notes of yeasts and spices. Taste of the same sweet fruits, with good yeasts, malts and spices with mild alcohol presense and a bit of biter hops. Solid medium body, good smooth creamy malt feel, medium alcohol warmth and nice dry clean finish. A very good seasonal offering. Glad I found it and yes, I will be back for more..ho ho ho!!

Bottle. Pours a murky swamp like red color with gunks of yeast all over the place and thin white head. Aroma is very sweet with notes of caramel, toffee, banana, spice like cinnamon and clove, some dark fruit and alcohol. Flavor feels lightly boozy with way more sweet and toffee like flavors i also get some brown sugar, light spice, and some dark fruit. The body is medium with a slightly smooth mouthfeel but next to no carbonation. Overall a solid preformer, but I think I had a tad too high expectations for this one...

11-dec-2010 33cl bottle at home, beer tasting night. Amber orange beer, a bit hazy, with average creamy head. Aroma is caramel. Medium bodied, creamy texture. Moderate sweetness, well balanced.

2006 vintage. I enjoyed this at Delilah’s 12th annual Winter Beer Tasting in Chicago, IL. From what I remember, a wide variety of wild yeast, with spices, cinnamon and a touch of sweetness. Nicely done.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2011 translucent red-amber with a thin but dense and persistent white head, medium-full body with medium-high carbonation.

aroma: dark candy sugar, minerality, roast malt, yeast, floral esters, stale hops, alcohol, and lots of orange peel.

taste: orange peel, stale hops, chewy chocolate malt, spicy phenolics, and yeast.

this would age really well, and the high hop level implies they planned for it to be aged a few years.

Pours nice lightly clouded brown with nice head; taste is warm, sweet; taste is very nice mix of Blegian candi, dark fruit, cherry, fig, nice clean finish; taste improved as it warmed; first several sips tainted by metallic taste that dissipated

Draft @ Cafè Brasseur in Bryssels: Hazy red colour, with a thin head. Aroma is sweet, caramelly, and a bit citrus and Sour(?) fruits in the end. Flavor is fruity, yeasty, caramelly, lots of fruits and a nice medium body, medium fruity/caramelly finish.

Pours clear orange with white head. Aroma has notes of dark fruit, spice, candied nuts, and a touch of apricot. Taste is apricot up front, raisins, some coriander, candied nuts, and caramel. Very nice complex, warming, and delicious.
