Aroma was sweet like candy. First sip is full of flavors, licorice, malts, spices, and sugar.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 thagr81_us (171) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - MAY 13, 2010
Served from a 750 mL bottle into a Chimay Goblet. Pours a nice copper-brown color with minimal white head. The aroma has a very sweet note to it. The flavor of this brew is malty and sweet that is light on the palate with medium carbonation. There is no lacing evident in this brew. Overall this is an excellent beer! The flavor of it reminds me of their Nocturnum only a little lighter on the flavors. Does Delirium make bad beer? I have yet to find one...

Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of fruit, and some other hints, maybe some spices, maybe caramel. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and a hint of hops with a nice bittersweet finish.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 SSKD814 (854) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2010
300ml bottle
A- An aggressive pour only produces about a 1 finger foamy tan head. This eventually tapers off into a thick collar and little lacing is left behind in the glass. Body is a rich mahogany hue and is cloudy-but not consistently. A transparency lingers in the middle while large bottle conditioned yeast chunks whirl around the body.
S-The nose is dominated by licorice and Belgian spices. A sweet ovetone.
T- Lots of licorice upfront with a solid yeast backbone. Peppery spice comes forward for the swallow along with a strengthening licorice flavor. Lingering on the palate is a yeasty sweetness along with plenty of Belgian spiciness and hints of licorice. A slight alcohol warmth also.
P- High carbonation and medium weight body.
O- This is a big and rich Belgian Christmas Ale that reminds me a lot of Corsendonk. The alcohol is somewhat hidden and this is a drinkable treat-but a little bit to rich for me. I may buy this one again next Christmas.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 chaz01 (190) - Miamisburg, Ohio, USA - APR 18, 2010
Had at Chappy’s Tap Room in a special Belgian event served in a 6 ounce mini-wine glass. Brown amber color with very little to no head. Despite the dark color, it was very clear with no signs of effervescence or bubbles. Sweet dark fruit flavors in the aroma. Tart cherry flavors with dark fruits like plums and raisins and just a hint of licorice. As the appearance would indicate, it was somewhat flat, little carbonation and a bit watery. Some nice flavors, but it was just missing something. Keg was recently tapped but sometimes they have some issues with Belgian kegs -- might give it a second chance next winter.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 teorn88 (567) - Rimini, ITALY - APR 6, 2010
33cl bottle. Pours a full brown body with a tanned head. Medium lasting foam. Aroma is pretty malty. Great, but not as much as taste. Taste is much more complez than expected. Surely sweetness, maybe a bit woody-roasty. Almost no bitterness. Medium carbonation. Full, thick body. Sweet ending sensation. Wonderful seasonal ale!
