4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: APR 22, 2014 33cl in Delirium Noel glass. Wonderful dark amber colour which glows red in candlelight. Mouthfeel is perfect not thin but also not cloying. The taste is much sweeter (and sticky) than expected with hardly and bitterness. This is exactly what you want for a Christmas beer. Next to Tsjeeses my favourite Xmas beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, pours reddish-brown with a thin lasting head. Nose has hints of toffee, sourish wine, faint woody mustiness. Body is sweet, turning faintly tart with sultanas and dry plums meeting a firm earthy bitterness and a sweet and lightly spicy-bitter finish. Good for the style, though a bit too sweet for my liking.

Large format bottle, served in a tulip glass. Pretty fun Belgian beer, probably better than Tremens?

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light quickly fainting head with candy or lambic aroma. Regular amber body. No great taste, just little bitterness with a lambic aftertaste. Deceiving for a delirium.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
750ml served in a Prairie teku
A - Pours a cloudy dark brown/amber with a 1 finger off-white head.
S - Brown sugar, figs, dates, banana bread, raisins, faint spiciness, tangy fruit esters, over ripened grapes. Candy malt and orange aroma grows as it warms.
T - Oxidation is the first thing I notice, phenolic mineral/metallic notes, tangy vinous fruit, herbal hop bitterness, orange alcohol, finishes with spicy alcohol.
M - Slow building carbonation goes from creamy to prickly, heavy side of medium body, alcohol on the finish.
The nose was very nice on this but the flavor had some odd stuff going on. Lots of oxidation and the alcohol paired with the herbal notes was not what I would call tasty. This is a one and done for me.
