Bottle. Pours light hazy dark amber with large creamy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, syrup, caramel, strawberry jam, sour apples and yeast. Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter and light umami. Body is creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is long and balanced bitter and sweet with notes of malt, brown sugar, orange juice, apple seeds, rye bread and alcohol.

Pours very heady brown/red. Nose is holiday spices, Belgian yeast, a bit of dark fruits. Taste is spicy hop, yeast character, fruity esters, a bit of malty fruity sweetness but not overwhelming at all. Nice high carbonation, very effervescent. Overall very good.

Aroma of sweet malt, cloves, herbal notes, candy sugar, ripe fruity notes. Flavour is sweet. Okay, but quite sweet and sugary.

Unfortunately, the beer welcomes me with a slight metal note that (luckily) fades quickly. Then there comes the heavy alcohol taste combined with an - for this type of beer - untypical strong sparkle. Hop bitterness sticks on your lips and the mouthfeel is somehow sirupy. Too sparkling for this beer style, not really my thing. And then itís heavy, heavy, heavyÖ

Sample at Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. Big, dark and heavy. Plenty of spice and a few mystery ingredients. Quite nice and very flavorful.

33cl bottle to its original glass, the pour is a dark red with a large off white head. The aroma carries strong spice, licorice, burnt sugar, cinnamon, toffee and other sweet smells. Not much in the way of hop aromas except a bit of mint and grass. The taste is an almost perfect balance of sweet and bitter and is similar to nocturnum. Lots of toffee, chocolate and spices. The beer is very palatable and the alcohol is pretty much non existent. Highly carbonated, medium thin bodied, very smooth drinking and the glass doesnít last long. Overall a beer that is brewed well. If I had to make a criticism, I think it could use a bit more complexity taste wise. However the drinkabillity and transparency of the booze more than make up for it.

Bottle at Congress, Longton into a Delirium Noel glass. Pours mid brown with an off white froth. Winter berries, well carbonated giving a zing to the palate. Bloody marvellous.

Poured from a large bottle into a tulip glass to drink. The beer had a thicker, slower pour with a fairly cloudy, deep amber-brown color with a gigantic foamy light tan head that had superb retention, and excellent cling and lacing. The aroma featured a pleasant blend of fruity and floral hops with notes of raisin, coriander, fig, and a yeast component along with a touch of sugar. Its taste had a lightly sweet fruity effect with raisin and fig that gave way to a stronger bitter flavor featuring dark fruits, bits of spice and yeast, and a modest alcohol presence. The beer had a very lively and fizzy body with high carbonation and a dry effect with alcohol in the finish. Great beer, warms you up on a cold night.
