Candy apple red with hardly any head at all. Aroma is sugary with hints of banana. Mouth feel burns a bit due to the high alcohol content. Taste is very sweet. Lots of sugar and candy. Clove and spice finish. Pretty complex.

Diagonal tasting? Vertical between BB 13 and 14 bottles and horizontal with Brouwerij Huyghe Tesco Finest Belgian Abbey Beer. First bottle, BB November 13, pours a ruby colour with no head. Aroma of black pepper, cherries, wood, cloves and toffee apples. Big upfront cherry flavour with cloves to finish. Quite bitter with an oily mouth-feel. A little cloying. Second bottle, BB November 14, pours a slightly brighter ruby colour with no head. Aroma of sherry, cherry, yeast, alcohol and vanilla. Flavour of cherry and marzipan almond. Mild carbonation with light CO2 prickle and also a little cloying.

330ml bottle bb 11/2014 into leffe goblet . a nice frothy white head that lingers clear deep amber coppery colour fruity hoppy aroma . fully carbonated mouthfeel sweet rich feel but not unduly heavy - not a complex range of flavours but nice - long almost juicy aftertaste with the 10% alcohol seeping in at the end but not a burn . A pleasant Christmas ale to enjoy
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bluebetty (820) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 29, 2011
Bottle picked my kids. Something about elephants on the label i suspect. Pours a dark copper with smallish tan coloured head. Some lacing as it drops away. Flavours of caramel, dark fruits, christmas spices and yeast. Flavours a little more straight forward. Super sweet with lots of dark caramel. Alcohol on the finish and a little sourness.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 fluffy (537) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - DEC 29, 2011
dark ruby red into a snifter glass. thin dissipating head. aroma was mildly astringent with dark fruits like raisins and dates with some ginger in the background. flavor was similar but brighter than i expected, with a toffee vanilla like finish. the alcohol even at 10% sneaks up on you as the finish is actually quite light. like most delirium beers, nice but a "one a night" type thing.
