Aromatic winey belgian ale smell in this seasonal brew. It has a clear amber red ale appearance. The big winter boozy malty flavor is delicious in the Belgian traditional flavor.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a thin off white tiny bubbled head, over a clear coppery, amber (SRM 10-12) body......nose is caramel, molasses, cherry, raisin, dried plum....taste is sharp alcohol to start then raisin, slight cherry, bit of allspice, nutmeg, finishing bitter hop.....mouth feel is light, carbonation lively and champagne like. This is a bit thin on the nose and taste, and the palate is rather light. The alcohol makes for a hot taste.

Poured a dark amber color with almost no head. Aromas of dark fruit and molasses with a little bit of alcohol. Flavors of brown sugar, raisins and caramel. Mouthfeel was a bit syrupy and flat. A pretty good, though unexciting, beer.

(draught at flying saucer on the lake) pours clear reddish orange with little to no head. Nose of toasted cane sugar and dried fruits. Taste of alcohol, smoke, roasted malts and nuts. A little undercarbonated but a good beer.

750 MP cork and caged bottle. Pours a deep amber brown with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma was fruity, dates, candi sugar, dates, yeast. Flavor of sugar and fruit, raisin, dates and brown bread. Pretty good stuff but this one will kick your ass with such a well hidden ABV.

On Tap in Ann Arbor, This is a very spicy and sweet beer. I though that the sugar content was a little too high and it had a syrupy palate. The aroma and look of the beer was great. There are big notes of the seasonal spices, but I think it would have been better a little more subtle flavor and sweetness. Bold.

Aroma of roasted toffee, molasses, biscuit and caramel. Appearance was caramel colored, translucent body with creamy head. Flavor matched the nose, with some kettle corn and peanut brittle flavors as well. Palate was lively and bubbly. Tasty!
