Poured from bottle bought @ Utobeer. Poured into a goblet ESB glass. Forgot to use my Delirium glass. Oh well. I notice no head. Very redish texture. A dark red beer from Delirium. This is for their winter market. You can feel the warmth of the alcohol intently. It does not disguise itself. An odd aroma is sickly sweet, caramel, spisces and anisceed. I can also detect a strong sherry-like presance. There is a delicate whiff of perfume and oak. The balance is fine and a slighty sparkling sensation. I can taste herbal spices, cherry, caramel malts and an aged oak finish. A good beer for the winter nigths.

Not hugely impressed by this. Indelicately sweet. Mega malt on the nose and stuffy tropical fruit in the mouth. Not Christmassy at all.

Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 8, 2009
Enjoyed via draft in a white wine glass. The beer pours a dark amber to medium brown color, with some lighter highlights; and a small just off-white head. The nose is a combination of the classic notes of Delirium Tremens, grain, fruit, slight acidity, and some of the darker, hardier notes of holiday beers. The palate again features a fundamental background of Delirium Tremens, followed by notes of prunes, raisons, and a subtle but pleasant Munich/Special B/CaraMunich malt character. The finish is estery, but not overly so; and is buttressed by a gentle semi-dry spicy note. Very drinkable and nicely warming on a cool afternoon.

bobaidan (433) - Southington, Connecticut, USA - DEC 6, 2009
Pours murky brown with a medium head of tan bubbles. Aroma is dates, raisin and alcohol. Mouth feel is thick, with just enough carbonation to prevent stickiness. Flavor is robust and sweet with lots of dark fruit flavors, some spice and just a hint of alcohol. This is a remarkable beer.

Some funky Belgian aromas. Golden liquer coloration. Nice viscous mouthfeel. Very smooth. Alcohol is masked. Warms you up very nicely.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2010 Re-Rate 2010: 750 ml bottle. Pours a dark, hazy amber with nice, creamy off-white head. Aroma of fruit, some dark fruit, malt, light must and some horse blanket. Flavor is somewhat sweet, bright and dark fruits, toast, pepper, cobweb, spices, mild hop, burnt caramel, light tang. Mouth feel is medium body with fizzy carbonation. Damn good stuff!
