1 year old 0.75l bottle. This one pours a near clear autumn brown-reddish body with a quickly fading and thinly sidesticking beige head. Sweet caramel on the aroma. Some subtle spicy notes with cardamom and a sour woody almost bacteria-like tone as well. A average carbonation level but the mouthfeel is much more watery and way thinner than I had expected from a beer of this caliber. Almost a bit disappointing. Flavors are kinda sweet on the caramel, some flowers, rubber, alcohol, metal and old grassy-herbs. Strange stuff, and not what I look for in a Christmas brew. Ends almost sour. No, make that sourish. A clear sour and caramel-sticky aftertaste. I had much higher expectations when I popped the cap. 0.75l was perhaps a bit to much of this one..

Draught. Pours pleasant nut brown with a hint of red against bright light with frothy, lasting light tan head. Aroma of raisins and spice. Characterized by malty sweetness with surprisingly delicate spice accents. Long, thick finish that doesn’t try to hide the alcohol. The sweetness gets a little tiring by the end, but all in all a nice winter warmer.

In bottle; aroma a little sour (almost like vinegar) ... not sure if the bottle has turned. Poured a nice dark brown, very little head. Taste was once again somewhat sour with dark fruit notes and some dryness. Overall, OK beer but not as good as I had hoped for.

Dark ruby liquid, medium off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, caramel, ginger, some coriander and other spices. Taste is alcoholic, a bit harsh, malty, sweet. Finish is more spicy. Very complex and strong, well brewed beer.

On tap. Deep amber with white head. Nose thick with raisin and slight champagne. Tart and light on the tongue with a brown sugar and white grape finish. Good beer.
