Deep red with white head. Aroma is cherry, caramel, red candy and delirium yeast. Oily palate with high carbonation. Aftertaste is rich, fruity, funk, dry, red berries and lingering delirium mystique. Overall: Very enjoyable.

Pours a deep red with a huge foamy head. Aromas of glazed cherries and christmas cake. Very strong taste of marzipan. It’s quite a nice one off but couldn’t have more than one

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Lillemarkens. Medium brown. A couple of centimeters of white bubbly head. Candy, sugar, banana, some cherry and other ripe fruit flavour. Sweet. Lots of carbonation. Medium to slightly oily body. Very good.

330ml bottle poured in a chalice. Lovely and traditional BSDA. Sweet and malty with the strong and delicious taste of Belgium yeasts. A: Dark amber and clear color. with a ruge beige aired and bubbled head which dissipates quickly leaving almost no lacings S: Sweet and roasted malts and the delicious Belgium yeasts. A bit fruity (reminds plums and raisins). Fresh earthy hoppy. Bit alcoholic end T: Better part. Sweet upfront. Very malty and fruity with a light bitter hoppy end. A bit metallic. Could be a bit less sweet and a bit more bitter IMHO. Delicious Belgium yeasts aftertaste M: Creamy medium body and medium carbonation D: Good. No mistake, another delicious Delirium specimen. Enjoy it! [ BA Review @ 11/24/2010 ]

Bottle. Clear brown with small white head and some yeast floating around. Very sweet, brown sugar, candy, strawberry, artificial fruit flavors, pears and Christmas bread. Chemical bitter finish. Ok but the finish is pretty bad.

"a darkish beer with bubbly off white head. smells quite malty with a yeast backbone apparent with spices and dark fruit. taste is super complex...fruity, malt, candi sugar, a little yeasty but not overdone. one of my favorite winter beers. 12/09-a 2008 bottle did not hold up as well as hoped. still good, but did not diferentiate itself enough from their other brews."

33cl bottle. Still as Delirium Christmas. Pours hazy brown with brownish head. Malty and thick. Some thin aftertaste of yeast, but that is what strong ale is all about. Spicy and actually does remind me of winter. Mix of raisins, dried plums, papaya and cane syrup. Serve it in chalice.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a semi-light bronzed brown color with a slim quickly concaving white foamy head. Light lacing traced the glass here and there. The smell started off rich in some Belgian sweet candy to spicy entranced dark fruit, more raisin as it warmed. Light chocolate malt made a good balance. The taste took those previously mentioned flavors and added a deep dark bready malt gentle with the chocolate and a touch of cherry. On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body with a depth of cherry character arranging itself neatly around my tongue in a good sipping quality. Overall, what an excellent choice of a Belgian Strong Ale. Always worthy to partake of during the holidays.
