Delirium Noël is a big Belgium beer with a bit of a kick at 10% ABV. Nice fruity aromas and dark color with a decent head. Taste is very malty sweet with a definite alcohol finish. Not a bad beer, but nothing in particular shines through.

Noël is a nice frothy ale with delicious aroma of lime, sweet berries and maybe a little marzipan. The taste varies over many different shades, indefinite fruit, light caramel, pine needles and a touch of bitterness that may remind me of the resin found in the Greek white wines ’Retsina’. Everything is fine composed of a harmony that is very vinous, reminiscent both of fruit beers, triple and strong ale. The alcohol tasted obvious, but is not destructive to the edge. Towards the end felt a little hop bitterness, which quickly dominated by a fruity acidity that puts long sentence for a wonderful ale.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance- Served a clear mahogany colored brew with a two finger white head. The head fades relatively quickly leaving a thin film and very little lacing.
Smell- The smell is full of sweet smells of a darker fruit nature as well as a sugary aroma. The darker fruits are mainly cherry and plum in nature while the sugary smell has a somewhat candy like aroma. Mixed with these are lighter smells of some citrus as well as a yeasty smell. In accord with this being a Noel brew, there are also some notes of a spice aroma, although these are rather light.
Taste – The taste begins with the fruit(mostly cherry and plum) that was detected in the nose. With this is some caramel sweetness as well as a light candy flavor. Some spices and yeast then come to the tongue with the sweet lessening up to some degree and a very light biscuit flavor entering the taste. While this is occurring an alcohol flavor, which is light at first, also begins building. As the taste builds to the end a moderate brandy flavor is left on the tongue, which mingles well with the fruity and sugary flavors and leaves a warming sweet taste on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the somewhat creamier side with a carbonation level that is a bit above normal. The carbonation is quite “peppery” with the bubbles tingling the tongue as they pop. This when combined with the creamy body give a rather exciting, but yet at the same time soothing feel.
Overall- A quite tasty and enjoyable Belgian strong. It has a somewhat complex but very enjoyable taste with a feel that complements the flavors and alcohol nicely.

750 ml bottle from notes. Pours a hazy amber brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel, brown sugar, candied fruit, holiday spices, some alcohol, raisins, fig, nutmeg, some boozy notes with the flavor, but overall this is a pretty decent offering.
