3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma of dark dried fruit, figs, bread, Belgian yeast, and initially a hint of cheese. Pours a beautiful clear dark amber with a quickly dissipating white head. The taste is overeall sweet. Rich red pitted fruit, malts, and a nice bready flavor. The finish has a welcomed hint of alcohol burn, but overall the alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, while I think of a "winter seasonal" beer as having more spices, this was a very pleasing beer that I enjoyed and would drink again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mahogany pour with a light beige head that lasts for days. Lots of cooked fruit and spice on the nose There’s also a bready character in there. A little warm on the palate but full of spice and bread notes with some cooked fruit. Solid but not especially exciting.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a lovely big creamy head. Love the dark brown color. Initial taste is also very nice but what I don’t like much is the after taste. It is quite bitter and I prefer sweeter beers. But 10 % of alcohol warms you up nicely during winterand for that this is a perfect beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Draught at Brugs Beertje, Brugge, 23 Oct 2014) Reddish brown colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, raisins, caramel, brown sugar and red fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, brown sugar, dried fruit, raisins and a bitter-sweet finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, with a warming winter touch. Quite nice.

Bottle. Not particularly appreciated. Very wheat, as if you drink a strong dark Wit.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a 33cl bottle into a tulip glass.
AROMA - smells of spices and tart fruits up front. A hint of alcohol in the aroma as well.
APPEARANCE - Brew pours a deep amber hue with a smooth and fluffy beige head.
TASTE - The attack hits you with spices and plenty of fruit flavors. It's actually much sweeter than I expected based on the aromas. Not way too sweet, but a tad syrupy. The middle of the sip continues that sweetness while the spices build then leave you with an alcohol chest warming on the finish.
PALATE - has a good amount of carbonation to it, perhaps just a hair too much. But it is satisfactory. The brew remains just smooth enough that the carbonation doesn't detract from wide array flavors and rich, silky body.
OVERALL - I enjoy this beer and I'm quite glad I picked up a four pack. It has a lot of flavors packed inside and is balanced fairly well. My main deduction is that the brew's aroma made me crave more tartness in the taste, but I was given an unexpected amount of sweetness. Sweetness is a good thing (although I'm not a huge fan of very sweet foods or beers), but I felt deceived. I'll take the Tremens or Nocturnum over this any other day, but this is nevertheless a good beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A enjoyable lil’ number (it’s rather large however) to be sure, this pink elephant hides that hooch well under-trunk. Attractive, no, seductive in appearance, a dark, clear ruby with an everlasting off white froth blanketing the sweet contents. Everything about this big brew seems subtle. Nothing immediately grabs me taste or aroma wise; faint spices mingle with nondescript sweetness and fruity yeast. Hints of fruitcake are in the background. An enjoyable nectar nonetheless, a lightly syrupy body with zazzy carbonation puts me in the Christmas spirit...to sit and relax.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Brown a bit reddish color with thick light brown head. Aroma has caramel, yeast, hops and nuts. Bitter and a bit sour taste that turns somewhat sweet aftertaste. Strong malty body but still very drinkable. Flavors of caramel, yeast, hops, spices - like coriander and some other - and also some alcohol warmth.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Typical Christmas beer with lightly hazy bronze colour, paler than Delirium Nocturnum, and thick, frothy, moussy head. Estery and caramelly, spiced, yeastiness, iron, cookie dough; sweet and spicy taste, caramelly, a bit sticky, a bit metallic with retronasal spiciness, lingering candi sweetness, herbal hops and warming, bourbon-like alcohol. Far from Huyghe’s worst.
