Yeasty, fruity and sweet aroma, reminded me of the rochefort. Not as great though. Brown, cloudy coloured, lasting thin head. Sweet and malty flavour; spicy. Decent brew.

beer of summer @ OTH.
’00 bottle, damn tasty with so many years on it.
orange-copper, tan head.
aroma and flavors, lots of soy, malty, lots of dark fruits, definitely tell this one has some age on it, mostly the soy comes through a lot more than usual.
Bready, typical Belgian yeast, dark fruits.

Enjoyed this one on Christmas Eve 2005. Pours a hazy brownish amber with a small off white nicely lacing head. Aroma of spicy belgian yeast, dark fruits, citrus, apples, cherries and caramel. Flavor of sweet apples, caramel and a few of the other things I was picking up in the aroma. A nice Belgian Strong Ale for sure.

Bottle pours deep caramel, slightly burnt, large sand colored foamy head, attractive lacing, with light carbonation.   Sweet candyish nose, caramel, with light dark pitted fruit notes.   Smells wonderful!   Subtle hints of alcohol as well.   Strong malty dark pitted fruit flavor immediately up front, followed by a slight alcoholic burn.   Mildly sweet, with minor hop bitterness at the finish.   Lingering hints of alcohol.   Nice body, enjoyable mouthfeel.   Decent Winter offering, but could stand to less heated.

2007 Vintage. Cork "pop" was somewhat subdued but the beer was still well carbonated. Very dark thick amber with a fair soft head. Aroma of candy sugar, caramel and alcohol with some nice spice notes that register later. Tastes just like the aroma. Sweet, light syrup, caramel and soft spice. Just a bit of alcohol burn in the finish.

Poured a clouded orange-brown with a rocky tan head. Poured this into a Delirium Noel tulip glass. Nose is sweetened spice. Candy sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, some fruit and alcohol all vie for the attention of your olfactory senses. The spice is much more evident in the taste. Cinnamon, nutmeg, perhaps apple and banana, along with alcohol melding into a strongly carbonated body. There's a spiced spritz on the tongue during the finish. The flavor remains on the palate long after the gulp has been swallowed. Nice stuff! An improvement over the standard DT beer!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 PorterPounder (3944) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 5, 2004
750 ml bottle - Market Sq. Liquors in Tallahassee, Fl. Pours a medium burnt copper color with a silky smooth khaki head, lots of carbonation. Aroma has some clean spicy notes with a sweet, pruney undertone. Flavor has some delicate date notes with raisins, candied sugar and perhaps some cherries. Blended together well. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy and the alcohol at 10% ais barely noticeable.
