Wow what a good beer!!This would be a great beer on a cold winters night to warm the cockels of your heart!!Not to mention a cool looking bottle! This beer poured a medium sized ivory head with fine-small sized bubbles that very quickly dissipated. The first glass poured a very dense, carbonated body and the second glass poured a clear body. The hue was light brown and the nose was definitely alcohol and fruit...apples?The initial taste was that of alcohol and some apples and spices. It had a smooth and tingly mouthfeel along with a burning sensation as it was swallowed.Aw yes, a Belgian Strong Ale...one of my favorite beer styles and a high ABV to go along with it!

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2012 I am afraid I am one of those people who just "don’t get" this brewer. I have not been very impressed with any of the Delirium line. I had not tried this one so I ordered it. Sampled on draft at the Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh this beer poured a caramel color with a small white head. The aroma was sweet, fruity and somewhat flowery. The flavor was sweet, fruity and flowery - almost perfume like. Perhaps rose petal. The perfume like element I have found in all of the Delirium beers - and is perhaps why I am not so fond of them. I liked this one better than the others though.

11.2 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. I let it sit for a couple months after Christmas, but I’m sure that doesn’t make much of a difference. Pours a cloudy brown color with a small but resilient eggshell white head. Aroma of fig, plum, raisin, brown sugar, caramel malts, earthy hops, and a pinch of nutmeg. Very nice. Flavor is not quite as inviting because of the boozy presence that pervades the other notes. Sweet, alcoholic, and just a little bitter, with notes of dates, figs, raisins, brown sugar, metallic notes, cherries, and earthy hops. Medium-bodied, with slightly below average carbonation. Very drinkable for 10% ABV. Not too spicy or sweet for a Christmas beer, which is refreshing after trying some truly cloying ones.

A bit confused about this one... hints at spice, but a dull malt is the only product in the aftertaste. Not the best Belgian out there. Mediocre.

A spicey, malt, yeast aroma, cloudy, pomegranate colour, pours a huge, rocky custard head, a continuous stream of bubbles. Candied malt flavour, treacle, red plums, grapefruit, metalic notes, yeast and almonds. Medium bodied, very well balanced, complex, warming to the tongue, pleasantly sweet, dangerously easy to drink, nicely bitter. Wonderful! Joyeux Noel.

Peculiar, herbal/vegetable nose. Earthy malts with spices and vegetable flavors. Hints of sweet fruit. Overall, sour and bitter and slightly musty. Funky monkey yeast flavors. Not bad, but I wasn't too impressed with this sampling.
