Beautiful clear mahogany with a medium off-white head. Aroma of spiciness, yeast, banana, dark fruits and floral hops. Flavor has notes of cherry, plum, raisin, caramel/toastiness, banana, orange peel, lemon/citrus and noble hops. Pleasantly sweet, has ample hop bitterness to balance everything out. Full and round body with very lively, spritzy carbonation. Quite enjoyable.

Hazy light brown coloured beer small white head and medium carbonation. Malty fruity aroma with some roasted touches. Medium palate slightly sparkling. Finish is roasted, bitter and sweet. Good one.

Im Geruch erdbeerig-malzig und sehr süß. aufdringlich. Startet denn auch stark erdbeerig, süß. Im Mittel alkoholisch, malzig und süßfruchtig. Das Ganze wirkt unangenehm und übertrieben. Abgang gewürzig-dumpf, süßfruchtig. Unpassend künstlich-süßer Nachhall. Aufdringlich, klebrig-süß und mit Fehlaromen besetzt. Gruselig.Test vom 22.2.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche

I sampled both the 2002 & 2004 bottles in one sitting. Both were spicy, caramel malt flavored. 2002 bottle had an overall polished character. Delirium Noel is a well-made Belgian strong ale.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2003 2001 Vintage: The color is slightly reddish orange. Slight whiff of alchohol to the nose. A bit of alchohol to the taste, but still a very sweet malt taste. Not what you would expect of a Christmas beer, but very good nonetheless. 2003 version on tap at Monks: Overall rating hasn't changed. Perhaps some fruits hiding in there with the malt sweetness to the nose. Very warming.

2004. Amber/brown. Well formed, off white head. Beware the wrath of chunky. Nose: toasty caramel, rich malt, funky yeast, past ripe fruit, and subtle spice. Same flavors plus a bit of berry and nice hops. Full, balanced body. Excellent.

Bottle. Brune pour with tan head. Spices, nutty malt, belgian yeast and candied sugars, and some dark fruit esters. A little sweet but overall nice xmas brew.

Bottle. Moderate malt notes of cookie and milk chocolate, light perfume and soap for the hops and yeast, with background notes of cherry, date and a hint of vinegar. Head is large, frothy/creamy, slightly off-white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy copper. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is on the heavier side of medium, watery, with a fizzy carbonation and a lightly alcoholic finish. A nice well rounded Belgian Strong Ale.
