3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 savnac (1365) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - DEC 25, 2011
Bottle. Clear amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma of toffee, belgian yeast, dark fruit, and some light spicy notes. Flavor is smooth, sweet, sugary malt, some raisins and light earthy yeast. Medium body with active carbonation and a dryish mouth feel. Great xmas beer, not a spice bomb.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 unclemike (1363) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - OCT 12, 2008
Slightly muddled. Minimal white head. Cinnamon bready nose. Caramel sugary nose. Sweet, malty caramel flavor. Full bodied with an alcohol middle with a tight burn. Then, the bitter hop citrus finish. As it warms, the fruit bread, holiday spice malt character really shines. Second glass is fuller and thicker. Same hue, but with thick swirling sediment. Little more of a citrus sour flavor on the hop finish. It really compliments the cinnamon malt sweetness. More cookie yeast notes. Still a great burn. Solid brew with great aging potential.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 fly (1357) - austin, Tejas, USA - MAY 13, 2004
Far better than my first run in with this brewery. Much less sharp and abrasive, rather pleasant actually. Full blown Belgian style head and lacing. Fruit (cherry mostly what I catch) and for being 10% it’s not the abrasive wallop that their Delerium can be. Rather enjoyed this and wish I hadn’t been so hesitant to pick up another bottle or two as it was practically being given away when I bought it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 VTHopHead (1340) - Barre, Vermont, USA - DEC 25, 2010
Bottle/750ml - Pours a darkish amber in color with a very small white head and plenty of floating yeasty bits. Aroma is slightly sweet and quite fruity with mostly dark fruits. Flavor is also a bit sweet initially with lots of the dark fruit (prunes, dates, figs, etc.) and some caramel or brown sugar. Yeast is definitely Belgian in origin and its fruity esters add to the overall fruitiness of the beer. Alcohol is well masked, but definitely creates a warming as it goes down. Not much for spices, but I liked it anyway. Worth repeating.

750 ml - 2005 - Aroma is yeasty bubblegum and allspice. Pours a cloudy yellow-brown with a nice fluffy head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet bread dough, allspice, bubblegum, and other spices. Palate is crisp and clean for 10%. A nice treat on x-mas.
