AshtonMcCobb (935) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 27, 2011
Pours a dark amber with a nice head, most of which disappears. The nose has apricots. The taste has ginger/nutmeg. The palate has a medium to large structure with a tangy medium bodied structure with a dry clean finish. Overall, a good beer.

Strong green apple nose, and similar taste. Weak, sweet body that fails to adequately compensate for the very strong alcohol notes. I’d expected something more robust like the Tremens for Huyghe’s winter brew, and was disappointed.

This was a very nice offering from the delirium folks, with nice flavor and color. Seems to fall, in flavor, somewhere between the Tremens and Nocturnum. Well done!

0.33 l bottle at Angleterre, Helsinki. Reddish amber with small head. Nose is candy like sweetness with some cherries and marzipan. Flavor is strongly sweet with marzipan and some cherry again. A bit boozy and metallic. It’s got some Dr. Pepper in there. Quite strange overall, yet not bad.

MoDog (927) - Griffith, Indiana, USA - JAN 29, 2008
Poured from an 11.2oz bottle and served in a tulip. This beer poured a murky brown with a thick head of lasting tan foam. Bubbly lacing covered the inside of the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of sweet dark fruits, candi sugar, toasted caramel, earthy yeast, and some mild alcohol. The flavor consisted of cherries, red apples, figs, candi sugar, caramel, followed up by a strong, warming alcoholic finish. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and crisp with an adequate amount of lively carbonation. Not mind blowing or terribly complex, but still very tasty.

2006 vintage. I enjoyed this at Delilah’s 12th annual Winter Beer Tasting in Chicago, IL. From what I remember, a wide variety of wild yeast, with spices, cinnamon and a touch of sweetness. Nicely done.

Besides the silly label this is a solid winter beer. A good balance of spice and sugar. Will satisfy you on a cold night.

750 ceramic bottle- Pours reddish amber with a thin head, aroma is sugar and yeast. The flavor is sweet but more bitter than the St. Bernardus Abt 12, If you can get past the massive floaties, this is one hell of a winter warmer.

2001 750 from Discount Liquor in Milwaukee pours an orange, red, and amber haze with very little head. Of note: there was little or no pop sound to the cork. The aroma is fruity, wine like, a slight touch of yeast and spice, and some alcohol warming. The flavor is woody, mild sweet sherry like, a bit dry, old hops, dry dark fruits, a candy sugar coating of the tongue, fairly "Belgian yeasty bread rising" notes, and a rich body that reminds me of some Barley Wines. Body also has a nice cleansing carbonation, which does not make sense since the bottle poured with little head and the bottle opened with little fanfare. Overall, I like the flavor, but I was expecting a more exciting appearance. This one is perhaps a year too old. It has lost some of the peaks in the flavor that I expected. I will re-rate as needed, but this one certainly passes. It is just a bit too old or not kept well. It still is a good rate, and a nice buzz.
