4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 GaltScat (195) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 1, 2007
25 ounce bottle from 2005. Amber with giant white head. Aroma of yeast, malt, fruit, and spice. Taste was similar to any good Belgian Strong Ale with added, nicely mixed spice. Alcohol is present on the palate but not overwhelming. Some bitterness and spice on the finish and warmth on the way down the gullet. Delirium Noel is rather mellow and smooth for a Belgian Strong Ale and it is very nicely completed.

Cork says 2005. Pours ruby/orange into a trappist glass. Mocha head quickly subsides to skim surface. Honey and fig aromas. Sticky and full honey caramel with a lasting, slightly bittersweet finish. Quad-like.

33 cL coated bottle (Delirium Christmas). Pours reddish, unfiltered with lots of sediment floating around and small, yet dense off-white head. Aroma is quite fruity, seems to hold some berry at first, followed by dried fruits and some yeasty complexity. I sense some woody notes too. Quite sharp flavour at first, spiced and with an alcohol edge. For every sip it goes slight more mellow providing a more balanced feel and flavour of cinnamon, slight citric notes, roasted malt, sugar and a warming alcohol finish and body. Nice.

(bottle marked 3 7): Pours a very dark brown body, particles suspended. Big foamy white head, quickly diminishing. Dark fruity aroma, floral. Alcoholy, floral taste. Thick taste. Very tasty.

750ml bottle - Pours brown with a big tan head. The yeast gives the aroma a nice fruit character and the malt comes in with some caramel accents. The flavor is sweet, nutty, and enhanced by dark fruit notes. It’s medium bodied and that 10% abv makes for some guaranteed winter warmth. Nice beer.

Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a short off-white head. Dense aroma of malt, cherries, corriander, and dried fruit. Pleasant, velvet mouthfeel. Smooth flavors of candi sugar, malt, nutmeg/cinnamon spice, and alcohol. Definietly a winter warmer.

Aroma is strong, malty, with plenty of spice hints and even a bit of an odd, rubbery odor that still was not unappetizing. It pours out a dark amber-brown, almost the color of cola with a decent head. Flavor is strong and mouth-filling, malty and quite spicy, with a touch of hops. This ale is quite smooth but has a good bite to it.
