On tap at Trappeze. Poured amber brown with a slight head. Aroma of spice, malt, fruit, sugar. Spices included clove and cinnamon. Taste was well balanced between sugar sweetness, spice, fruit, caramel malt. Body is nice and full with plenty of carbonation. Very easy drinking. Overall, a very enjoyable brew.

The sweet aroma of the Christmas ale let me know that the ale was going to be different from the Belgians of my past. The sweet sugary taste of left me wondering what it was. Very smooth and drinkable after a few minutes of air with the distinct tastes of raisins made the finish easy .

A little boozier than I remember. Yeasty and fruity, and a little hot in the finish. It doesn’t quite come together in the end, but it’s still a solid brew. The alcohol presence takes a little away from this one, and I would give it higher marks if it wasn’t so noticeable.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 AR (685) - Georgia, USA - DEC 26, 2007
This beer had a high-alcohol aroma and contained a lot of visible sediment. It had a hearty mouthfeel with a tart kumquat flavor. I drank this on Christmas eve, sipping it with my wife after the stockings were hung by the chimney with care. Used a stemmed, 6-ounce etched glass with a gold rim. Perfect for the occasion.

Appearance: Pours a murky orange/copper with a 3 finger off-white head that dissipates very slowly, leaving lacing all around the edge of my glass.
Smell: Sweet fruit malts and spices with just a small hint of alcohol.
Taste: The taste follows the nose pretty closely. This starts out sweet, fruity, and candy like, with a decent amount of spicyness. Alcohol is present, especially as it approaches room temperature.
Mouthfeel: Light/medium body with some carbonation.
Drinkability: 2 of these small bottles would be more than enough, especially at 10% ABV. This should be sipped, and consumed over a time of an hour or two. Very well balanced. I will most certainly look for this one again next year!

Thanks to my brother-in-law for this one (nice little Christmas Eve gift!)
Loved it. Pours a copper/amber color, rich puffy slightly off-white head. Solid lacing throughout. Aromas of dried fruits and a crisp finish. Agree with the previous posting... a nice change of pace from other heavier Christmas beers.

Bottle. Moderate malt notes of cookie and milk chocolate, light perfume and soap for the hops and yeast, with background notes of cherry, date and a hint of vinegar. Head is large, frothy/creamy, slightly off-white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy copper. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is on the heavier side of medium, watery, with a fizzy carbonation and a lightly alcoholic finish. A nice well rounded Belgian Strong Ale.

A very tasty seasonal strong ale from Delirium. Hints of spice, maybe nutmeg. Smooth and strong, somewhat sweet. On draft.
