Nice red/brownish color,Big white head that lasted for a nice long time and in fact seemed to take forever to disappear,leaving a nice lace behind.Fruity,yeasty aroma with an almost juicy fruit gum like smell,also it seemed to be very sweet smelling.The taste was quite nice,spicy and fruity with a mild hop presence but mostly spice is prevelant in this brew with a few fleeting hints of other flavors like fruit and malt.It also manages to come off as quite sweet IMO.Not a bad brew at all,in fact usually belgium brews scare me,they seem unpredictable and usually make me wince when i drink them but this one doesn't do that.Very much worth trying.

Beautiful amber colour with few foam and practically no lace. It has a seducing aroma of banana. The flavour is quite sweet and the aftertaste is long. Well-balanced.

Poured a red copper color with a long creamy head and light lacing. Fruity aroma, apple citrusy with a touch of mustiness. Quite malty and on the sweet side, fruity with a light spiciness-cinnamon, clove-flavors blend well together, soft mouthfeel. Dryish finish with just a touch of booziness. Tasty rounded flavor with an underlying warmth-I liked this one and will try it again. 2002.

Draught. A nice dark orange color with a full, off-white head. The aroma is of sweet fruits and a touch of yeast. The flavors are well blended. Soft fruits, spices, yeast. The alcohol is present, but in the background. A tasty and dangerous beer.

New arrival in Iowa. The body is a medium red that is also kind liek copper. The head dies down quickly and was slightly off white with some khaki coloring. The aroa is really boozy with some toffee and a little bit of ginger. There is also a hint of hard cinnamon candy. The taste is rich with some fruity cherries and a little bit of cinnamon. There is also a hint of plums. Highly carbonated moutfeel that is almost too sharp. A nice Christmas brew.

Bottled: Amber coloured. Clear. Dense beige lasting head. Aroma of cocoa, spices and fruit. Flavour is spice and ALCAHOL. Very distinct alcahol. Body is full and quite complex. The beer ends with a delicious alcaholwarmth, that last for quite some time. This is a nice one.

This brew pours with a slightly cloudy amber body wtih a thick head and a good amount of lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty with nice spicy notes and a little candy sugar. The flavor is slightly sweet and spicy with a malty note and a touch of candy sugar. Full bodied and slightly dry.

Spicy fruity flavor. Another great ale from the Hughe Brewery.
