3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My girlfriend purchased this for me for Christmas (muchas gracias): Ruby/brownish color with a beige head. Aroma of yeast, spices, and sweet malts, along with some fruitiness. Taste is pretty sweet. Faint note of hops. Very fruity. A little bit of the high alcohol peeps in. Very easy drinking for a beer of this size. Quite good.

Bottle. Rusty brown with an off white foam. Aromas are berries with caramel and vinous notes. Lemon and marzipan with funky, cheesy aspects. Spicy with oranges and hints of strawberry. Flavours are orange and lemon with musty cheese and a herbal character. Spicy with base toffee malts and medicine. Warming alcohol on the finish. Happy Christmas.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark ruby red with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of Belgian sugars, bread, and some spice. Taste is not as noticeable, with the sweet malt/sugars the most prominant, and doughy yeast flavor on the tail end. Alcohol is hidden well, with no detection. Not a bad beer, but price would deter me from purchasing again.

Warm bottle found under the stairs. The countdown begins here. Excitable cherry red pour with a piled nicotine whip of head. Banana-yeasty aroma with dried bark, plum brandy, brown sugar, clove, heady pear and orange liqueur snorts. Warm and yeasty with heady overripe stone fruit (plum, nectarine) peppered with alcohol heat, black cherry throat sweet and elusive spice. Finishes warm and medicinal with cherry and cough mixture. Fairly standard robust Belgian strong

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from AmmersinO, Vienna. Red-brown clear body with creamy, long-lasting, medium bubbled, slightly beige head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, brown sugar, dark fruits, a bit roasted. Taste starts pretty sweet, with cherry, dark fruits, brown sugar, then it gets spicy and alcoholic and finishes slight bitter-dry, again with some dark fruits. Medium creamy body, with pretty strong carbonation and alcohol warming. Overall not bad, I like the end-to-end dark fruit touch, but it’s a bit unbalanced and too less complex for my liking. There are some better Belgian christmas ales.

1/3 taster glass. Red/brown, amber. Thick beige head. Yeasty, malty, spicy almost wood nose. Strong flavours. Spicy. Alcoholic burn, full bodied, mid lasting. Christmassy, not an all-year beer. Not really for me, either, sadly.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours medium amber with a red hue. Massive thick off white head that lingers with superior lacing. Light nose of dark malt sweetness, Belgian yeast and alcohol against a backbone of dark fruit. Light medium body that matches well with the somewhat high carbonation level. The taste is pleasant with notes of spice against an alcohol base. It finishes with a note of spice and alcohol. The alcohol leaves that nice pleasant burn. More spice or lower alcohol would improve the balance and make this outstanding.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: deep brown, ruby-red in color with decent (unexpected) clarity, topped off with a volatile, smoky-white head - very fluffy, thick, & slow to recede. Aroma is sweet, fruity, & ester-y. Berry, plum, fig.... very dark fruit character with heavy alcohol presence all over the place, phenol, spice, sharp yeast, & medicinal tones. Taste is heavy alcohol up front... warming, nearly hot with a high phenol presence, even at colder temps. Sweetness in the form of black licorice, plum, black cherry, grapes, with hints of red wine. Mild banana & clove notes from the yeast; dirty & earthy malts in the finish. Faint tartness mid-palate, almost astringent. Cherry notes & pears open up with warmth... musty & slightly cotton funk yeast in the aftertaste. Not the biggest fan of this one, definitely the weakest of the main Delirium trio.
