December 2010. From a 750 ml. bottle. Amber color with a large white head. Aromas of citrus, spices, caramel, malt and yeast. Good winter warmer.

It pours a amber brownish colour with a thick head that goes off after a while. Drunk in spring, but quite good.

bottle @ home. Profumo di liquerizia, di caramello e di canditi. Anche qualche spezia che non iesco a identificare con certezza. Schiuma beige molto fine e stabile. Birra molto scura, quasi ebano. Frizzantezza marcata, corpo pieno e pastoso. Finale appiccicoso e lungo. Assaggio dolce, caldo alcolico, e pieno. Non nasconde affatto la sua gradazione, ma le spezie e il sentore dolce di fondo lo esalta ancora di più. luppolatura quasi assente.

Bière de Noël sans épices mentionnées dans la composition....
Bizarre. Force de 10 % abv, beau programme. Bouteille opaque à la lumière,
très bien pour la conservation.
Eléphant rose sur des skis, avec bonnet de père Noël et écharpe, bof …
Couleur ambre très profond, tournant au roux brun.
Clarté nette.
Bulles moyennes partout, pas vives mais soutenues.
Mousse beige claire assez crémeuse.
Arômes de céréales, malt, presque tourbé, avec un zeste orange et citron.
Volume soyeux de la 1ère bouche, mais prise de bouche originale, déséquilibrée,
mais dans l’esprit des brassins de Noël. Arrière-bouche un rien piquante, acide.
2ème bouche sur des fruits bruns, légère pointe fumée, arrière-bouche maltée.
3ème avec du genièvre, de l’amaretto, des épices de verdure.
Arrière-bouche un peu âcre !!!
La longueur est courte, sans vraie ampleur, fondue mais très moyenne.
La levure est douce avec une légère pointe de piment.
L’alcool est assez irrégulier, bizarre.
La finale ne montre aucun envol, ni rien de marquant.
Conclusion : une bière qui va « a menos », ce qui est en soi déjà grave,
et d’autant plus pour une bière de Noël, sensée apporter le bien-être, et donc
aller vers le haut... Et dire que c’est la bière de cette brasserie qui a la meilleure
cote sur ratebeer !!!!

Bitter strong aroma. Tan hazy body with a medium tan head. Hoppy taste with a sweet end.

Probada de barril. Color rojizo. El aroma es genial y el sabor aun mejor, muy intenso. Los 10% yo no los note, se bebe fácil. Excelente.

From notes: Bomber aged 1 year. Poured clear not brown with a small, thin bone-colored head. Aroma consists of caramel and candied fruit. Medium-to-full body with a light syrupy thickness. Flavor of candied fruit, maybe orange or something similar, mixed with spice (nutmeg?) and a touch of caramel.

Dec 2012 - bottle on Christmas day. Bottled as ’Delirium Christmas’. Sweet, strong, rich and malty. Not a lot of bitterness. Enjoyable.

Aroma is somewhat tart with redcurrants and toffee typical to aged belgian ales. Flavour is rather tart with currant juice, some woody notes and hints of toffee. Warming alcohol in the finish. Quite different than I remembered, not sure if the intensive tartness belongs here.

Torbido color marrone con schiuma bianco sporco piuttosto persistente. Aroma dolciastro e leggermente pungente con sentori di lievito, spezie, malto tostato e zucchero caramellato amaro; gusto in bilico tra dolciastro e amarognolo, piacevoli note caramellate e nocciolate ma il finale è guastato (forse per via dell’alcool) da una persistenza "appiccicosa" al palato. Corpo medio-abbondante, effervescenza vivace, forse un po’ troppo. Discreta, ma ci sono belghe natalizie migliori.
