Colour and sight: Deep dark red colour, with a light pink, compact and lacing head. Scent: Soft fruity aroma, with hints of almond and mildly sour cherries. Flavour: Sweet and fruity, with a nice balance between sweet and sour. An excellent dessert beer.

5/23/16. 750mL bottle from Warehouse. Murky dark red pour under a very small khaki head. Whooaaaaa, sniff and a sip, I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. When I looked it up when I bought it I just looked if I had it or not and didn’t look into what the beer was. Some sort of crappy sweet sour attempt? Anyway, here goes. Won’t judge from first sip. Gotta get through a whole bottle, though. Should have saved this for a night Mrs. Owl is home. Not because she’d like it, but because we could split it. Actually, if she didn’t like it, she’d just make me drink it, so I guess I’m back where I started. Oh right, the beer. Huuuuuuge metallic aroma, like a handful of pennies, some cherry aspect, loads of sweetness. Sweet flavor, cherries, cherry candy, mild tartness, marzipan, table sugar, a big mouthful of pennies. Less sweet, less metal, and more sour would make this much better.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2016 Draft at delirium cafe. Red ber with frothy pink head. Fruity syrup dominates. Moderately cloying. A hint of Belgian yeast. Medicine. Ugh.

Pours as red as it’s name - like a deep cherry with a big pink cream head. Aroma remains yeast and sourish fruits but with a hint of punch. Flavor is sugary fruit with a bread back. Light carbonation as if someone poured cherry-heavy fruit punch into a beer. A slight sour aftertaste. Honestly a good alternative to a sangria. Really can only drink one, but on a hot evening (like tonight) and having had too much white wine lately, this is a great alternative.

Tomada en el Kraken. Correcta cerveza con sabor a cereza. Potente, bastante decente. Del estilo de la Kastel Rogue.

Bottle from Drinkshop. Aroma some lactic acid, sour cherries, general fruitiness. Inviting. Head quickly drops off, hazy deep ruby colour. Taste is lightly sour and moderately sweet, almost no bitterness or hops flavour present. Mostly cherry and lightly lactic. Feels natural though, quite good even though a bit singledimensional. Enjoyable, drinkable.
