Delirium Tremens

Aroma is spicy, with notes of fruit and must. Pours a cloudy golden with fluffy white head, that dissipates moderately. Tangy to the tongue at first, it evolves into a bitter and then clean finish. Notes of apples (granny smith) and banana. Notes of honey too.

As I poured the beer out of the strange, blue speckled bottle, it came out a very clear and consistent golden color, like a true ale should be. It had a nice full head that lasted a while. Although, once it settled, it took on a slightly murky appearance. At the first smell, I was instantly reminded of a cheap beer, which was disconcerning. It may be because it is such a clear beer and consists of mostly hops and not much else. Because of this, it was very smooth. It had a little bit of a bitter taste as well as being seemingly light with a hint of citrus. The palate was smooth, overall. There was a nice flow from sweetness to bitterness in the beer and it all hid the alcohol quite nicely.

~Fruity spicy scent, pears and clove, Belgian candy sugar. ~Pours a clear orange with white rocky head. ~Lot of honey and sugars in taste. Very sweet. ~Medium feel, sweet finish. ~Too much sugar in this one. Too sweet for me.

It pours a light brown, almost yellow tinge, with a ring of a white head. The smell is what I would expect in a Belgian Ale: hops, flowers, bitter fruit, yeast. The taste is a little more pleasant than the smell and almost the same exact notes but with a little more focus on the bitter fruit and hops. The finish is smooth and leaves a nice bitter aftertaste.

bottle, bought in Dresden a few years ago. Golden colour, mid-sized head. Fruity nose. Full-bodied, fruity and malty with some caramel and orange peel, shy hop flavours in the finish. A warming touch of alcohol is also present.

This beer has a very heavy yeast float. It needs to be poured with care. It also caused a rough feeling like an allergic reaction in the throat. It is not fruity just yeasty.

Very complex, but light. No roasted or dark flavors but plenty of fruity and somewhat sweet flavors. Great beer.

Subtle banana and clove nose. Clear light amber, thick white head, mesmerizing streams of carbonation from the bottom of the glass. Light malt flavor with a slight clove accent. Vanilla and hay finish. Thin mouthfeel. The alcohol is noticeable. Good transitions. Well made and a great "go-to" Belgian beer.
