The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

This is one of the better beers that I have ever had. It has a unique flavor that you have to try.

Relatively clear hazy golden body with a white head. Sweet aroma with some hoppy bitterness, grapes and cereal. Sweet flavour with a hint of honey and spices. Very nice.

Pours gold/brown with a nice white foam. Taste contains spice and alcohol. Student folklore tells this beer will have hallucinations as an effect (hince the pink elephants on the bottle), but even a night with non-stop all sorts of deliriums never showed me anything but reality. Also, this Tremens isn’t really my fit. Not a bad beer but it’s aftertaste is kinda strange and it didn’t hit me as I expected it would.

Wasn’t particularly fond of this. Wanted to like it, but it didn’t impress. Why? Strange finish and aftertaste. Not BAD, but not great either. Decent strong pale, but given choice between this and several others I’ll invariably choose the others. Too bad, because that’s some rockin’ packaging.

33 cL bottle: Appearance is golden brown with a white head. Aroma is strong is spices and malt with a hint of candi sugar. Flavor is heavy in spices and candi sugar notes, as well as having a mild yeast presence and malt backbone.

Pours golden withe steady bubbles and a decent head. The nose has lemon and more prevalently pineapple. The taste has malt and then tangy pineapple. The palate is medium bodied with a creamy texture and then a tangy finish. Overall, a good example of a Belgian Blonde.

had on draft and was very nice. Golden pour with hues of amber and a nice white head. Aroma has fruity esters with a noticeable yeast as well. Medium in bodied, high in carbonation, lively mouth feel, yet still retaining a smooth feel. Flavor is light and fruity, sweet and malty, but well balanced to not be cloying. Perhaps a very light bitterness, but mostly just a well balanced belgian. Nothing groundbreaking, but similar to la chouffee, its just a really good, full flavored and easy drinking belgian.
