The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottled, TNX Viktor! Color is hazy yellow with huge flothy head. Sweet yeasty nose. Aroma is sweet with yeas, malts and apricot. Flavour is the same. Alcohol sticks through at times. thick full mouthfeel.

Tap at Waterhuis aan de Bierkant, Gent. Mostly clear golden shade. White foam. Aroma seems sweet and yeasty before it’s even on the tongue. Notes of pear drops, banana and caramel. Light stickiness. It’s all combined pretty well but doesn’t come off as tasty as I hoped.

Crisp, yeasty, nice citrus leaning to lemons. The the slight sourdough hints brought on by the complexity of yeasts. The. Pour is slight haze, cloudiness similar to a wheat beer. The lacing of the head is perfect except waiting for the first sip since the pillowy head takes some time to settle. But crisp beautiful, delicious and the high alcohol is hidden well with flavor.

Arômes pas incroyable à moins que je suis bourré, petite d’alcool. Apparence blonde bien limpide, or. Goût, alcool, banane, réglisse. Palais assez agréable doux quoique une peu alcoolisées. Globalement bière assez sympa malgré des manques au niveau du goût

Clean golden color, big white head. Fruity and malty aroma, with floral and spicy notes. Sweet taste with light sourness and mildly bitter hoppy finish and spicy aftertaste. Medium body and fizzy carbonation. Nice ale, well balanced, refreshing and quite enjoyable.

Botella. Muchísima espuma... ha caído al suelo al abrirla. Color amarillo tirando a ámbar turbio. Aroma agradable a malta con toques afrutados. Recuerdos a pera y cereza. En boca hay una explosión de sabores, predominando el dulce. Viene cereal, viene pera, viene cereza, .... , amargor final y golpe alcohólico. Muy buena cerveza.

Exceptional beer. Popping the lid off the ceramic bottle provides the first burst of scent and a protrusion of foam. From the pour the juicy foaminess of this beer is present along with fruity and spicy but soft aromas. The first sip reveals a wonderful fullness in the balanced flavors with coconut, pomello and earth coming through before a later focus on the sugary yeasts and finally a long drawn out hoppy finish. Later tastes and swallows back this up and reinforce a wonderful drink.
