Smelled like candy and tasted very sweet...a perfect beer for after dinner.

Spritzy golden color with white long lasting head. Fruity, citrus, aroma and flavor with alcohol coming through. Light sweetness of malt drying out in the finish. Smooth enough to catch you unawares!

Thin, clean, alcoholic & spicy. I did not find what I hoped to.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 CQC (224) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAY 10, 2002
Another belgium beer... Pretty fast paced. Slightly dodgy aftertaste. Got summit in there that shouldn’t be. When I work what it is I’ll tell ya. But, as in most cases, I’ll have another.

I didn’t find the complexity in this one that others found--perhaps had had too much beer already by the time I got to it. Distinguished by its bubbliness, but it didn’t hang on in the finish.

Strong taste of alcohol. Didn’t like this one at all.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 6, 2002
One of my favorites, citrus, spicy, floral, balanced nicelt for 8.5%..So smooth if you’re not careful you might be seeing pink elephants too! I persoanlly avoid it on tap, looses it’s life and aroma not too emntion carbonation.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 neilrichards (191) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2002
It’s light in colour, gassy, and with a well maintained head. This is a very nice beer, and in my opinion under-rated by others. Highly drinkable, rich, and slightly sweet. In my opinion this beer is quite typical of many of the Beligian strong ales that i’ve tried. I get what a previous reviewer said about ’salt cured meat’. Decent malty smell, with a slightly drying palate.

A fun ale to analyze. The saaz and styrian hops come through in the aroma along with plums and other fruit. Sweeter flavors witha warming alcohol feel. Quite smooth for the strengh.

Clear gold, cidery looking, with white medium lasting head. Aroma in glass is big citrus, floral sweet and slightly acetic. Bottle aroma was yeasty, cured meat. Flavour starts out big and malty, weakening slightly to a sweet-sour middle and bitter medium-long finish. The salted cured meat thing is somewhere in there as well.
