The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Reviewed from notes. Aw, the first beer that really got me into craft beer. Had this at in Paw Paw, Michigan on a whim after seeing that somewhere had rated it the number one beer in the world. I wouldn’t even put it in my top 100 now, but at the time it was by far the best thing I’d ever tasted. Pours a nice golden color with a bit of peach coloring and a nice white head that leaves behind a really nice dose of lacing. The nose is quite fruity and spicy with some light pepper plus peach, sweet malt, light stone fruits, and a bit of Belgian yeast. Taste is equally as complex and really just melds some tropical, citrus, and stone fruits together really well and adds in a touch of booze. Nice feel. Drinks quite well and is always a bit nostalgic for me. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-13-2010

Bottle from trade. Poured a light gold with a huge white head. Aroma is classic Belgian, little bit of sweetness to it. Flavour is light, sweet citrus with some dough & spice. Cotton candy sweetness. Not overly complex or multi layered but pleasing none the less. Finishes bitterness, slight warmth. Decent.

Has a nice orange zest to the aroma. Bits of yeastiness float in a golden pool. The orange becomes more pronounced on the tongue. It’s a medium mouth feel and it finishes clean.

Bottle. Enormous head sits atop an intensely golden, somewhat viscous liquid. Powerful, alcoholic aroma with ester notes. Tastes very alcoholic, and somewhat sweet, but with plenty of fruit flavour. Quite overbearing, but a good choice in the right situation.

Bottle. Clear gold pour with a huge white head. Aroma of banana, alcohol, syrup and some fruit. Banana and candied fruit flavor with a bit of booze before a sweet and somewhat syrupy malt finish.

This is a tremendous beer. Great hoppy floral and citrus presence. Beautiful beer, beautiful bottle presentation.
