The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Poured from a bomber into a snifter. Pours golden with a fluffy white head. Taste is full of carbonation with a mild Belgian yeast funk. Medium body.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Sweetish blond beer. Strong alcohol flavours. Not complex or bitter but fruity. Good. In reasonable quantities.

On tap in Belguim at the Delirium. Amazing, even before I tasted it. Pale clear golden with very active swirls of carbonation coming from the bottom of the glass. Very thick, tightly packed rocky head. Strong floral, yeasty aroma with prominent peach, cherry and mango notes. Mild alcoholic notes in initial taste, citrus and vanilla, sweetening in the middle, leading a sharp bitterness that rises on the back of the tongue at the finish. Strong bready and nutty components comprise the backbone. Complicated and outstanding.

Very pretty in the glass, brilliant pale straw colour with surprising clarity for a bottled conditioned brew. It opened with a champagney pop after I’d let it settle on the counter for about an hour after getting it from the fridge. Crisp but not dry in the mouth, with a light appley-almost-cider-ness to it. Left a faint bitter aftertaste at the back of my tongue that lingered and became a kind of crackery biscuity flavour.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is yeast, some spice and apple notes as well. Feels light on the tongue and very carbonated, and very refreshing. Taste has an odd bitter bite followed by almost sweet green apples.

Pours a golden colour, nice 3 finger frothy white quickly falling head. Flakes og yeast floating around in the beer. Aroma is yeast, spice and banana. Medium to low mouthfeel, high carboation. Some alcohol in aftertaste, very mellow for a strong golden. Spices, and subtle spicyness. Balanced and nice to drink.
