500ml. bottle slightly dark hazy pale orange. spicy slight hop citrus smell with some other fruit...really tasty complex flavor. lighter than it looks. high alc. content, but you wouldn’t guess it.

On-tap at Hamilton’s. Pours hazy dark yellow with a moderate sized white head, specks of lace. Smells sweet and citrusy with lots of yeast, peaches and sugar. Tastes yeasty malty sweet, slight citrus and a little cardboard. Medium body, good carbonation.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Nashville. Poured a clear to slightly hazy gold/orange color with a two finger white head. Aroma of spices and yeast. Flavor is malty, with spices and sugar in the background. Medium body with mild carbonation.

Bottle. Pours gold with a large fluffy white head. The aroma is spicy and yeasty with some fruity apple. The flavor is lighter than the aroma with yeast, a hint of fruit and background spices. Pretty good.

Pours an almost ludicrously effervescent pale yellow with a massive bubbly and rather thin white head that dissipates over time without leaving much lace. The aroma is of sour light fruit, like apples and grapes and not unlike dry white wine or champagne. The taste is more of the same, a bit more up front, with some belgian yeast notes. I must say you don’t taste the 8.5%, and it finished pretty dry. Reminds me a lot of champagne. Mouthfeel is pretty thin and obviously bubbly. I dunno who this Stuart Kallen character is, but this is not the best beer in the world by a long shot.

Like the Nocturnum, this beer has ample head. The beer pours orangey-gold with a white head that lasted through the entire glass. Fruity aroma and taste, almost excessive carbonation. You wouldn’t guess the abv of 8.5% while drinking this beer. It’s light in the mouth, not a real pronounced taste that I’ve experienced with other Belgian Strong Ales, but still tasty none the less.

Poors a very pale golden colour with a slight bit of sediment. The head is white and strong. It smells aromatic and fruity, but not particularly strong. The strength hits home in the taste. Nice, complex fruity flavours, all well balanced. Very Belgian in taste, but thankfully not as intense as one might expect from the alcohol content. A pleasant finish. Cannot pick a fault with this beer.

bubbly pale yellow, medium white head, big lacing. aroma of malty, musty, wet cardboard. flavor is musty. it is also creamy, grainy, hoppy with sour friut notes. spicy with a hint of banana. medium bodied, dry finish. pretty complex. not much of an alcohol hit. if i have to drink this much alcohol, i’d rather be hit with a hop bimb.
