The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Evil wicked stuff. Not because it is a bad beer, far from it. It is way too drinkable for it’s strength. However it can on occasion be a little too sweet. Serving: Bottle and tap

330 ml bottle. Rated @ 27.8.2009.
Clear golden colour with a foamy white head. Yeasty aroma of sweet fruits and syrup. Sweet flavour of sweet malts, caramel and citrus. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Warming finish. Nothing special here.

Yellow beer with big and blond head. Aroma is fruitfull and aromatic, orange and spicies. Flavour is also fruitfull, spicyness, herbs, and drying bitterness in the end, maybe some alcohol. Lot of carbonation with surprisingly quite light body, quite nice to drink. Nice beer, but other sectors didn’t support to living aroma.

Aroma is citrus and reminded me of apple cider. Appears golden, sparkling, a bit cloudy, with a very frothy head that dissolves very fast. Highly carbonated and lively with taste of citrus and herbs. Cool bottle.

Pours a cloudy gold with medium carbonation and a disspiating white head. Aroma is apricots (maybe), wheat and alcohol. Taste is fruity with a kick, a little sting-y on the tongue. Aftertaste is a light bitterness with some alcohol taste. Became very smooth toward the middle of the beer. A very nice belgian ale.

Aroma is belgian, candied sugar. Appearance is golden light brown. Huge white head. Lots of carbonation. Taste is belgian sweetness, lemon, tart, peppery, very tangy. Palate is medium. Carbonation sparkles nicely. Overall this was nice. Alcohol very decieving. I enjoy this style, and this is definatelly to style, but I was expecting more to be honest. Very well rounded beer that is quite satisfying though. Had this a few years ago and remember enjoying it more. Worth a try but at this price will not buy again. Would prefer a Duvel.

On tap @ The Cheeky Monk in Denver. Pours a pale straw yellow with a light creamy head. Aromas of apricot, oak, and bubblegum. Tastes pretty sweet with notes of wheat, pear, and some orange citrus. Has very light carbonation, some slick light texture. Pretty balanced and smooth.

Ambar colour with a rocky white head. Sweet floral aroma with notes of yeast. Fruity taste, apricots, medium sweetness, lightly bitter and a dry finish. Slight sweet after taste, medium body. Good.
