The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bright yellow pour. White, bubbly and quite ugly head. Fresh aroma of green grapes, apples and yeast. Fruity, sweet and sour taste, with notes of green apples, elderflower cordial and wheat. Fizzy carbonation and overall reminiscent of sparkling wine.

A-pours a crystal clear pale yellow with tons of white fluffy head that sticks to the side of the glass. S-the nose is reasonably large, light phenols, belgian yeast aromas, a fair bit of estery fruit, green apples, touch of banana, hints of a peppery spice linger on the tip of the nose, faint notes of alcohol throughout. T-the flavor brings a big malt presence, lots of sweetness. there is a honey like malt presence, phenols and belgian yeast reside underneath. the sweet esters are dominant throughout much of the back adding green apple and notes of banana and a hint peppery spice. there is a light to moderate hop bitterness with a solvent like alcohol and a hint of heat in the finish. M-full bodied and active on the palate, its has a good creaminess to it with a strong carbonated finish that sits prickly on the back of the throat. D-pretty tasty brew, shows the alcohol a little, lots of sweetness and fruit flavors with a good big of yeast and malt backbone. the peppery spice adds some balance amongst a moderate hop bitterness.

Very interesting Belgian Ale. Pours a disgustingly yellow green body with a decent head. Smells of apple baby food, maple, tree bark, and sweat. Taste is consistent with the smell. Bottle thickness deceives amount inside. Would not purchase again but am intrigued by odd taste.

Bottle. Taken me a while to get to this one. Hazy straw yellow color with a tall lacing head. Yeasty estery aroma. Pretty simple and 1D to be honest. Flavor is pretty much the same--yeastiness, bananas, cereal malt. A medium dry finish. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Medium bodied with effervescent carbonation that tickles the tongue. Overall: solid beer, but not exactly my style.

Bottle. Poured a light amber with a small white fizzy head that dissapated rapidly and had fair lacing. The aroma was light of bread like malts. a piney hop and a sweet yeast with mild notes of bannana’s and citrus. It tasted light and slightly astringent at first and finished lightly bitter with a hint of bannana and a mild alcohol flavor that lingered on the palate for a while. Mouthfeel was very light in body and watery in texture with a nice soft carbonation. Overall a nice begian ale that has a mild kick to it.

750 ml bottle. Pours a blond with a small white head leaving decent lacing on the glass. Smell is belgian yeast with a bit of sweet fruit. Initial taste is sweet with belgian yeast. Light bodied.

Has the look, smell, and taste of a saison, and a damn good one at that. Bright gold color with fruity nose and taste with a hoppy finish, excellent indeed.
