The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

beautifully golden color, decent aroma, but deliciously smooth taste. I would never think of this as "the best beer in the world". Seems too simple, but nevertheless a tasty beer that is highly drinkable

Bottle, 0.33l from Delirium Tremens glass.. Deep golden color and medium white head. Aroma, yeast and lightly fruity, probably pear. Excellent beer.

This Belgian one pours a beautiful cloudy golden-orange colour with good heavy carbonation. Head is creamy and has good retention. Aroma is quite yeasty with hints of pears and other fruits. Up to there, very nice. Then the taste comes along, and I don’t know what to say. Maybe "yeurkk!". Whatever fruit this tastes like, I don’t like. Crazy aftertaste of something fucked up. Almost rusty. Unibroue’s Maudite seems like the Canadian version of this strong ale, but it damn rules compared to this. I guess you either like this beer, or you don’t. Too bad, I got two.

Pours dark amber with a nice head. Aroma is typical for a Belgian with yeast and fruit notes. Medium in body with a good amount of carbonation. Flavor is fairly sweet with a bit of an alcohol bite.

(11.2 oz bottle) Poured a light hazy gold with modest carbonation. Virtually no lacing. Very mild floral flavor with nice hop and malt balance. No taste of the alcohol. A very pleasant finish. One of the more mild Belgian beers I’ve had. This would have broad appeal. I would look for again to purchase or recommend.

Pours a light golden color with a thin white head. The aroma is of lemons and grass. As it warms, the malts really sweeten up and give a sweet aroma with a soft funkiness. Very fruity and citrusy initially on the palate. There’s a sft barn yard quality to it that I really enjoy. The finish has a nice grain aspect to it.

Keg @ Gollem, Amsterdam. Wheat, alcohol. Thick white head, clear gold body. Low bitterness. Warming.
