The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with a lasting medium-sized white head. Malty aroma with notes of yeast, spices, liquorice and alcohol. The flavour is sweetish malt, yeast, clove and citrus. Medium-bodied, smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle pour to Trappist glass gives clear medium yellow with thick frothy white head, Aroma light fruits, citrus, acidity, Belgian yeast. First swallow with some citrus sharpness, mellows a bit with light fruit, spices, yeast. Alcohol well disguised. Very carbonated. Finish a bit dry. Glad i tried it but won’t seek it out.

Had from 11.2oz. bottle from BevMo. Pours golden yellow with good, fizzy head that dissipates to a thin white film with slight lacing. Aroma is spicy, with fruits, cloves, alcohol, and yeast. Taste is complex with lovely spices, cloves, sweetness, fruits, and hay. Finishes slighty dry, very tasty. A quality brew.

This is a good tasting ale. A nice light amber color with a good head. You can smell and taste the yeast. Not sure if it is worth the cost in the fancy bottle, but glad I tried it.
