The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Pale hazy golden color, small white head, though kind of fluffy, a touch viscous... semi fruity aroma, very belgian, a touch sweet, pitted fruits... fruity, belgian flavor, dry finish, medium full body, warming...

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2010 Immediate aroma of yeast rolls with a pine & mint hoppiness mixed in. Lemon yellow in color with a malty sweet flavor. Slight hops aftertaste. Very fizzy on the palate. Overall, its ok, but not exciting.

The aroma is subtle with slight fruity characters. Interesting but not my favorite.

Very flavorsome beer. Very sweet. Slick. I thought it looked great. Beautiful in colour with a long lasting head.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold, with a sizeable head, which lasts throughout the beer. The floating yeast flakes give it a very classy look. It is quite fruity on the nose, very similar to a hefeweizen. There is a moderate initial hops hit, with a very slight note of citrus. The finish is smooth and quite sweet. The only real issue I have with this beer is a slightly too sweet aftertaste. A very good beer indeed.

Nice copper pour in the glass. Nose and taste of sweet citrus and plum. Rated 11/3/2000

Pours a cloudy golden yellow, with good aroma of fruitiness. The beer tastes very crisp and easy drinking. Slight flavor of mixed fruit and slight bitter aftertaste. A good Belgian Strong Ale that was tasty to drink.
