The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Review via my iPhone @ the Sugar Bowl. Solid clear yellow gold, ample fine white cap, spotty lacing. Light grass, good grains, green apples, faint lemon, bit tropical, light appealing hops. Tasty grains tied in wonderfully with welcoming spices, nectarines, lemon, light tropical fruit, mildly tart throughout. Mediumish bodied, smooth with good zip, ends with some flat bitterness.

Sampled at a tasting at Pacific Park Market, thanks Ken! Those pink elephants are cool. Light, clean, simple, easy drinking.

Bottle 330ml. Delicious beer. Aromas of bread, champagne, apple, and spice. Sweet taste, with a touch of sourness, and lingering long-lasting bitterness. Palate is smooth and oily, with a full body. Cloudy yellow, with a frothy white head.

1 Pt 9.4 OZ wegmans. Light hazed yellow with high carbonation that keeps the head somewhat frothy. Aromas of sour apple, coriander, orange peel, lemon, light bread, yeasts. Flavors of lemon, slight sour apple, yeasts, coriander, light orange peel, slight banana, light wheat. Bubbly, lightly sweet, semi dry/sour/bitter. Alcohol goes well unnoticed. Not quite my cup a Belgian style.

Clear, yellow body white, minimal head. Nuts, leaves and a little lemon. Medium sweet and lightly sour. Taste doesn’t really match its looks. Bit oily texture. Medium-long finish. Nice although a little expensive. (Bottle 33cl 2,90 EUR)

750ml bottle at The Abbey in Philly. Appearance shows some sediment, opaque, golden, hef-like almost. Aroma is all belgian, orange, citrus, banana, little sugar. Palate has a respectful bite, was pleasantly surprised by that. Delicious, drinkable, go-to for Belgians but not as special as Lil Devil or Pranqster...still classic though, easy to chill with.

Pours golden with a large, lingering white head. Nose is malty and bittersweet, typical of the style. Flavor is strong on yeast and has some breadiness to it, with less malty sweetness than many other Belgian Strongs. Finish is short with a little more sweetness. Decent but not particularly great for the style.

Aggressive pour into a tulip glass a tulip glass. nice tan head quickly Dissipates, dark brown and orange color. the smell is complex and fruity bananas, cloves, ect.... taste... Mmm very balanced for a strong ale, the sweet spiciness covers the alcohol nicely. goood beer.
