The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle. A - Hazy golden yellow with a fairly large white foamy head. Decent lacing. S - Lots of golden and tropical fruit (peach, apricot, apple, pear, and pineapple). Also a good amount of spice (clove, coriander, and pepper). T - Follows the nose. Sweet pale malt base with a lot of that fruitiness and honey. Also a decent amount of alcohol comes through as well as a bit of a medicinal taste. M - Medium body with a fair amount of carbonation. Creamy and smooth. D - Pretty good, lots of fruit and somewhat sweet but a good amount of malt, spice, and warming. Strong on the palate but not overwhelming. Smooth and goes down easy, but tends a bit closer to sipping. Notes: Lots of different fruits that mix well, and while they provide sweetness, it isn’t overly cloying.

banana, ginger, and roasty nose paired with a hay-yellow body. A light-medium ale with a long fizzy after taste. Overall, not too bad... looking for more on the palate.

Light sweet and fresh aroma. Gold with white head. A light raspberry flavor in the tripel sweetness.

Wish i’d known I was going to start an account here a few days later ... otherwise I would’ve made notes. Alas.

Bottle. Hazy blond with white lasting head. There is a lot of belgian yeast in the aroma which makes it pretty wild, almost barnyard. Also, some fruit esters, apricot, citrus and some spices. Taste is a mix of spices, citrus with a fruity and alcohol finish. Earth and wood give a nice bitter backbone. Palate is full and creamy with appropriate carbonation. Very good if you are into the mood.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2010 Poured opaque pale yellow/gold with a white foam head... a thin layer of which lasted start to finish. Aroma and taste are a mix of fruit, yeast, spice/pepper and some citrus... didn’t taste or smell any alcohol. Medium carbonation, nice body, decent depth. Overall a good beer... more like a Triple.

Bottle. Pours golden with a big white head. Flavor is dry with some sour apple, clove, and other fruit/spice notes. Way more dry than I remember.
