The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

On tap at the Gingerman in Houston. Poured into a chalice. Pours a very light yellow with only about a finger of fluffy head. No lacing to speak of. Aroma is of your typical light Belgian. Not too aromatic but sweet. Mouthfeel was very light and extremely drinkable. Taste was sweet with hay and very mild orange. Alcohol wasn’t present. Very good but kind of pricy. Good for a special treat.

This one was on tap at Duke’s Alehouse in Crystal Lake, IL. It had a dark yellow color, permanent lacing, and long lasting carbonation. The yeast yielded a very nice and fruity flavor along with a slight clove hint. Hops were in perfect balance. Deserving of the accolades.

Good beer, nice light gold color. Belgian taste is smooth sweet and citrusy. A well crafted beer, you can tell a lot has gone into it. Tremens packs a pretty good 9.0 percent, you’ll be sitting pretty with 3 or 4.

Pours a burn orange with a nice white head, good lacing. Aroma consists of yeast, citrus, apple and maybe a little coriander. Yeast and sugar dominate this sweet tasting brew. Nice beer that is solid out of the bottle or on tap. Medium body, the taste does not improve as this beer warms.

Serving: 330 ml. bottle. It pours a slightly hazy, pale gold color with a large, pillowy, white head. It has fantastic head retention. The nose is filled with herbal notes, licorice, belgian yeast, and spice. The taste is a tad on the sweet side with a bit of grain and a light floral notes. It lacks some umph in my opinion. There is also a slight off metallic note. It is light on the palate, highly effervescent, and very drinkable. Overall it think this one is a bit overrated.
