A: Light yellow color with lots of carbonation and a good white head.
S: Fruity, sweet, spiced, and some yeast.
T: Very nice spice and that wonderful Belgian yeast flavor, some mild fruit. Also a dryness that I found pleasing.
M: Very crisp and dry beer. Very bubbly, too.
D: Great drinkability, goes down very easy, even with a considerable alcohol content.

Mmm... on tap at the Trion. Another beer I’ve had from the bottle many times, and found to be even better from the tap!
Another from the line of my much adored Belgian Strongs, this beer just cannot be put to the side for another time. If you get the chance, (especially if you are a fellow malt lover) please this beer a try. It is one of the few beers I’ve found on ratebeer that I believe deserves a reasonably higher rating than it has gotten thus far.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Best before 2012-05-10. I can’t believe I haven’t rated this before considering how many times I’ve tried it. Time to remedy that now. It poured a light and slightly pale orange colour with a medium big creamy head that settled down nice in the glass. Some carbonation is visible. The aroma is a bit more yeasty and sour than I remember. Some spices and notes of citrus as well. I tad of swirling the glass releases the aroma and makes it nicer. Banana, malt, bubblegum and hints of alcohol comes out. The flavour is typical for the belgian strong ale. Notes of yeast, banana,, apples, malts, bubblegum, and some carbonation. A short, but pleasant aftertaste. Overall a very nice and classic belgian strong ale.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 AxB (16) - USA - JAN 31, 2010
Light hazy appearance, huge amount of foam. Fantastic fruity smell and taste (banana is prominent). Very balanced considering the 8.7% alcohol percentage.

Pale straw gold with a huge white head that fades slowly, lively carbonation and good lacing. Nose is light malts: light fruits, banana, cloves, and flowery hops. smell actually remainds me a bit of a weizen... Light, crisp and refreshing in the mouth... the light, sweet character masks the abv well.

Bottle. This beer I really had to taste, cause there still is a little hype around it. I bought myself some bottles, and was hoping on a winner. But... the taste of the beer is so "weird", I don’t think I ever drinked something you can compare, it’s hard for me to say the taste is good. It’s different... and sour...
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Russo (942) - Campinas, BRAZIL - JAN 30, 2010
Bought in some Brugge supermarket and drank back in home. Hazy yellow color with some sediments and a rhin white head that keeps until finish. Aroma is citrus, yeasty, sweet and fruity. Taste goes at same direction with a bit bitterness. Mouthfeel is dry like a witbier. Good one, no alcohol felt.
