The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

From a 750ml bottle notched on the 3 and the 11. Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A: Slightly hazy amber with a beautiful pillowy white head that maintains it’s size and shape for a few sips. Lots of carbonation activity coming from the D at the bottom of the Duvel glass, like a column of bubbles climbing to meet the head.

S: Sweet and fruity, but mellow, very complex. Banana and strawberries perhaps with light floral hops and slight clove spices. Very inviting, almost as good as Damnation.

T: Matches the aroma perfectly, very inviting and complex. Sweet with the strawberry and banana notes through which blend into the delicate floral hops and end with a light spicey cloves finish. This is almost as good as Damnation in the taste.

M: Expands in the mouth with a creamy body and huge amounts of soft carbonation, very airy.

O: This is an excellent beer and I wish I hadn’t put off so long trying it. It’s one of my favorite beers now and I’ll more than likely buy another for my non beer drinking friends to enjoy.

Fruity with spicy characteristics. Also a touch of hop. Beer itself has an amber color with a large white head.

330ml bottle from The Cave bottle shop, Glasgow (£3.85):
Light hops & fruity notes that includes some cloves, spice, apple and some pineapple too. There is a touch of peach, some yeast and a nice helping of citrus on top of a well balanced aroma that also includes from grassy hops and light, summery notes.
Pale, golden amber colour with a massive, foamy white head on top that holds very well. Lively appearance with some nice lacing too.
Light fruits to begin consisting mainly of some grapes, apple and citrus notes with some lively hops and a touch of sugar too. There is a touch of banana and the alcohol content is well hidden.
Medium with a lively mouthfeel and strong carbonation. Smooth with nice, light spice and a hoppy feel with a subtle bitter finish.

Very lively and hoppy feel and some very nice light fruit notes. This one is very well carbonated and looks great with a very nice mouthfeel. The alcohol is very well hidden in this one and the beer is an easy one to drink.

Keg at BeerTown, Waterloo, Ontario, not my style, quite heavy and sweet, like a hoegarden on steroids
