The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Sabor a manzana, pera, levadura, cítricos... Cuerpo ligero, refrescante. Buena belga.

Pours pale gold, with large effervescent head. Aroma is malty, with touch of yeasts and fruit, maybe apricots. In flavor very strong, almost overpoweringly so, with heavy malt, rampant fruitiness and belgian spiciness, all the while being very carbonated to offset the taste. After a few sips I’d name orange and bubblegum as the most dominant flavors so far. Though the finish is quite bitter, partially due to alcohol, but nevertheless rather fitting into the taste profile. It is kind of like Duvel except more sweet/heavy rather than crisp.

Bottle. Slightly hazy pale golden pour. White head. Nose is slightly sour, crisp malty taste with an abrupt finish. Somewhat sweet finish too. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Aromat: banany, kwiaty i przyprawy, ogólnie Belgia. W smaku przede wszystkim słodycz i trochę owoców, piwo trochę szczypie - wyczuwalne też przyprawy. Alkohol ładnie zamaskowany jak na woltaż.

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle, big pillowy head with a ring of melted-marshmallow lacing. Smells like a yeasted dough with some fruit, like some kind of an apple or apricot popover. Actually, this whole thing reminds me of baked goods somehow, not like American cookies or something like that, but something in an honest to goodness European style bakery, some kind of simple tart or something that most Americans would pass over in favor of a cheesecake brownie but that’s really the most phenomenal thing in the store for its restraint, delicacy and poise.

A bottle from the basement of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, opposite Taipei Main Station, drunk at home. The bottle is very attractive. Aroma: sweetly hoppy, floral. Appearance: clear amber, minimal head. Palate: medium-bodied, very fizzy carbonation. The finish is sweet. Taste: the candy sweetness is overpowering, I don’t like it much.

Clear golden body and a white non-descript head. Nice nose with sweetness of bubblegum, yeast, sweet bread,. Quite carbonated, with an off flavor on the finish. The nose on this beer is better than the flavor. Finish more disappointing. Hard to believe I’ve never rated this beer previously.
