The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Bottle from Belgianbeershop.com. Color: clear yellow golden. Head: thick, white. Nose: spicy, yeasty, fruity (citrus), clear alcohol presence. Taste is very Belgian with lots of yeast, spicy and fruity. Delirium Tremens is a very fine strong ale but I prefer La Guillotine by the same brewer.

I bought a bottle at BevMo and did a search on the internet to find out more about it. Anyway, I cracked it open last night. DT is a tasty example of a Belgian strong ale. I took off points for the appearance because there wasn’t much head. The flavor was great: sharp, strong, clean with lots of citrus and clove flavors. The high alcohol (8.5%) wasn’t apparent until the end of the bottle.

Pours golden with a nice white foamy head. Nose is some citrus, yeasty, some green apple. Very high carbonation. Taste is quite strong on alcohol, yeasty. Good Belgian Strong, not fantastic.

0,33 bottle at Exit bar Peje/Pec Kosovo. Proper glass. Pours golden slightly filtered color, medium white frothy head. Nose: Belgian yeast with a citrus hint, floral bouquet. Mouth: residual dry feel. Start is pleasantly bitter, but in style as a BSA. Alcohol blast but round and good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Une belle robe blonde, légèrement opaque. Dommage que la mousse ne tienne pas. Arômes puissant : floral, malt et levure (pain, biscuit, banane). Goût légèrement ranci, juste ce qu’il faut. Assez longue en bouche. A essayer.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a frothy to creamy white, briefly lasting head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of yeast, bread dough and funky basements. Fizzy carbonation, light to medium body, flavors of bread dough and a nice light sweetness of butterscotch, the classic Belgian yeasty aroma/flavor combo. Quite nice but a bit too much carbonation.
