The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

Head: white, big, frothy and creamy, avg. retention. Colour: yellow-golden, hazy. Aroma: sourish and fruity, lollipoppy sweetness, some sharpness, spice/coriander. Taste: starts sweet, then gets drier and more sour and slightly bitter. Velvety mouthfeel, both because of soft carbonation and well balanced sweet-sour-bitter taste. Very good!

huineman (317) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAY 24, 2015
Pours pale golden with huge carbonation. Rocky white head. Aroma is iron, corn flakes, dry lemon, peppermint. Powerful, starting a little sweet, then metallic. Perhaps too aggressive, due to high CO2.

Hazy beer with an easy head, tastes quite sweet, but bearable. Lively carbonation with an OK palate sensation. I liked it.

Marstonlad (544) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 23, 2015
A hazy golden color and a big white head. The aroma features pale maltiness and yeasty spiciness with a solid Belgian farmyard element, very fruity. Taste is light sweet at first but later sourness and bitterness rise. Fruity, earthy flavours create a strong, rich mix. The palate is full bodied, slightly sticky with low to average carbonation. One of the classic strong Belgian ales.

Bottled. A clear gold/amber colour with a good-sized foamy white head and noticeable carbonation. Spicy (clove) aromas, with bubblegum and some sweet fruit too. A sweet start with light fruit, then a drier, spicy, warm finish and a very dry aftertaste. Very good.
