2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
02.11.05 750ml bottle, cork dated 2.004 Pours a hazed yellowish gold with an initially massive and frothy white head that quickly fades to a thin, coating layer of foam with sudsy bubbles. Suprisingly unattractive for some reason I donít fully understand. Aromas are very sweet, lightly herbal, mint, touches of raw bell pepper, celery, and lemon. Hops and yeasts seem an odd mix on nose, muddled by weakly presented maltiness. Much more bitter than expected, thatís a nice surprise in such a big Belgian. Lightly floral, more herbs, some pineapple that lingers along with a yogurt like aftertaste and finish. A sort of cocoa butter flavor and aroma emerging with temp. Long, dry ending. Little alcohol dominance other than the pepperiness. So-so tasting, but Iím not enthralled; it smells funny and ainít so pretty.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
AROMA of hops, bitter hops and aroma, yeast also, with really interesting fruity notes, i would say banana. APPEARANCE is a sweet clear golden yellow but the foam didnít stayed long.TASTE has some acid and fruity hops together with fresh bitterness. reeaaaaly sweet. (and also sweet) PALATE : perfect cargo (although the inexistend head) and medium sweet finsh of hops with a hint of bitterness. OVERALL I remember I didnít liked that kind of beer back in the days (like 18^^) but now I love it. Nice bitter/hoppy beer with delicate notes of yeasts and sweetness from the malts. Balance is the way. POURED from a 33cl from fridge in teku glass.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very special beer, it is supposed to be strong but is very friendly beer. Fruity, some citrus in aroma and flavor, has a little bit of sourness, and the hops are well balanced. Some spiciness too, but subtle.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Malt and yeast. What a beer should be but nothing more in terms of palate or complexity. Long finish with hops dominating saves the day.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to glass. Bright gold, fine snowy head, lots of funky stuff floating around in the glass. Yeasty nose, white grapes and soft light caramel. Light and spicy. High carbonation. Boozy, but not overly so. A class act, even for someone like me, not really into Belgians.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a slightly hazy straw color with a small, thin white head that was gone quickly. Aroma is fruity, maybe lemon and apple, with some earthy yeast. Medium body with a light dryness to the finish. Flavor of apple with an earthy yeast note. Maybe some pear and spice as well.
