The particular character and the unique taste of "Delirium Tremens" result from the use of three different kinds of yeast. Its very original packing, which resembles cologne ceramics, and the colourful label contribute to its success.
In 1997, Stuart A. Kallen nominated Delirium Tremens as "best beer in the world". A gold medal during the "world beer championships" in Chicago (1998) confirmed that worldwide recognition.

02.11.05 750ml bottle, cork dated 2.004 Pours a hazed yellowish gold with an initially massive and frothy white head that quickly fades to a thin, coating layer of foam with sudsy bubbles. Suprisingly unattractive for some reason I don’t fully understand. Aromas are very sweet, lightly herbal, mint, touches of raw bell pepper, celery, and lemon. Hops and yeasts seem an odd mix on nose, muddled by weakly presented maltiness. Much more bitter than expected, that’s a nice surprise in such a big Belgian. Lightly floral, more herbs, some pineapple that lingers along with a yogurt like aftertaste and finish. A sort of cocoa butter flavor and aroma emerging with temp. Long, dry ending. Little alcohol dominance other than the pepperiness. So-so tasting, but I’m not enthralled; it smells funny and ain’t so pretty.

Like Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way. Pours a lovely golden color with off white head. Head retention is OK, but not magnificent. Extraordinary balance on the taste, especially for a high alcohol beer. Basically, this is the standard by which a golden Belgian strong may be judged.

Nagyon selymes, és krémes habja van, az illata nagyon kellemes. Az íze intenzív, karakteres, érezni a magas maláta és a komlót is. Nagyon jó sör

Head has dank cheese-mold pungency. Hints of formic acid finished off with a nice tang of yeasty beery alcoholic vapor. Nice malty hit on first taste which rapidly evaporates into a lengthy hoppy slide to the end. A bit clingy on the palate.

Pours a light hazy straw with crisp white head. Aroma is of basement, yeast, fruit and leather. Taste of honey, booze, gum, and a little vinous as well. Has a sweet and surprisingly big mouth feel with medium carbonation and a nice dry finish. For such a strong yeasty Belgium ale it was quite quaffable and easy to drink.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste fruit, sweet, Carmel. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Always when I drink this beer I have a good feeling. This beer is so perfect by its style. The cream is in good quantities and keep "working" with the carbonation. The taste is very sweet, caramel and a little alcoholic. But the yeast bring a taste so good of citrus and floral, and a little of clove and banana. The yeast is the body of this beer, but, this beer is so balanced that everything fills so right that you can’t say that have something more intense. So good, I really like this beer!

A golden beer with a medium white head. Taste is like fruit, citrus, yeast and some light bitter. Aftertaste is bitter, with a long duration.

I really like the clay looking effect of the bottle, had a heavy bread, straw aroma, pours with a clear light yellow appearance with a very full head which lasted well, had a mild carbonation with a sticky texture, I found this to be a very good but very strong Wit Beer.

Bottle, 330ml. A golden beer with a medium size foamy head. It has a somewhat fruity aroma with apples, citrics and maybe green grapes. Taste is bitter with a hoppy character. There is some carbonation and a considerable amount of astringency. Aftertaste is sweet and reminds me a lot of the fruits I found in the aroma. Very refreshing, yet strong. A world class beer indeed.
