On tap at Berliner Bierfestival. (as Öko-Dunkel) Deep golden brew with a nice, beige head. Malt, caramel and grain in the aroma. The flavor was quite hoppy, with fruit, caramel notes, some grain and a bitterness to balance it. Medium body. It finished with a nice, fruity bitterness. The overall impression of this beer kinda exceeds the aroma and flavor. (070803)

Bottle at RBESG grand tasting, August 2005. Attractive reddish copper colour with an off-white head. The diacetyl in the aroma overpowers everything else, and carries on onto the palate. A bit sweet and thick. Difficult to know what this would be like without the butterscotch. I hate diacetyl. Not impressed..

Butterscotch, green apples and caramel in the nose. Clear brown body with absolutely no head. Butterscotch is strong in the flavour also, along with caramel malts and moderate finishing bitterness. Slick in the mouth with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled at RBESG 2005.
