yngwie (3529), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 18, 2007 On tap at Berliner Bierfestival. The nose was the first and best surprise with this one. It was quite hoppy, with a fruityness and pine-aroma seldom seen in Germany. The pour was clear, pale golden in color, and with a white head, so quite ordinary. The flavor was also quite nice, mostly like the aroma, and it had a nice bitterness. Maybe a bit thin on the palate, but the finish was nice, with a fruity hoppyness. Even though the hops are playing the lead role, it was a pleasant excperience. (070803) MiP (5025), Flensburg, Germany Aug 20, 2007 Draught at BBF07 as Demmert Pils Hell. Slightly buttery aroma. Hazy golden colour. Nice and big, creamy, stable white head. Malty and citric flavour in good balance. Metal aftertaste which seems to disappear after a little while, though. rkuhnel (1102), Eureka, California, USA Jul 4, 2006 Updated: Jun 21, 2007There sure a lot of German Pils, and they all seem much the same. That is good, not bad, as most are quite nice to drink. This one was golden yellow with a nice white head, and good lacing. Nose of malts and hops. Slightly bitter finish. OK jfm (1572), Holbæk, Denmark Jan 5, 2006 Bottle. Golden color witha white head. The taste is a thin light malty body with a crisp and light hoppy note on the palate. tiggmtl (4181), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 10, 2005 Cake-like yeast, cereal malt and grassy hops in the nose. Hazy golden body with low, off white, fully diminishing head. Cake-like yeastiness with fair bitterness and some buttery notes. Light body with low carbonation. Bottle sampled at RBESG 2005.
