330ml bottle (6%abv) courtesy of mr_h. Almost black colour, big foamy head. Chocolate malt aroma. Big chocolatey flavour. Sweet & fizzy on palate. Somewhere between a stout & porter. Not bad.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2013 Re-rate - same score but just to say nuttiness is coming out hugely now. Previous rating 17/02/2013 - 7+4+7+4+15=3.7 33cl bottle thanks to Nustu. Appearance - opaque black with a nice slim crema head. There is also a nice red hue. Nose - coffee, cream, dark chocolate.Taste - coffee, milk chocolate and cream. Palate - medium plus in body, creamy texture and quite an elegant finish. Overall - a well made stout.

On cask at The Heriot-Watt Beer Festival. A beautiful black beer with a decent tan head. Aroma of pine, coffee and chocolate. Similar flavours with lingering pine and roasty malt. Not too sweet. Lovely.

[cask at 27th HWFest, Riccarton] Dark brownish black pour with a sparse, bubbly head. Treacle sweetness on the nose. Quite a heavy hit of molasses on the palate, balanced by a touch of citrus from the Pacific Gem. Chocolate in there as well, and the whole thing finished very nicely but maybe a tad sweet. Overall though, a good beer – dangerous at 6.6% [22032012]
