COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Porter som den smagte i Gamle dage, da man stadig lagrede den på egefade. ...Mere enkelt kan det ikke siges. Gl.

500 ml bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a dense beige head. Aroma of dark, light roasted malt, fruit, berries and some acidity. Flavor is sweet malt, hint of liquorices, roast, fruit and sourness. Balanced bitterness. Fine body and a good aftertaste. A bit unusually, but very pleasant, like it a lot.

23-MAR-2012, bottle @home, from "Bunkerbeer". Dark brown with low beige head. Sour roasted nose. Taste is tart with roasted coffee and some spice. Low carbonation, ends thin and tart. Strange.

0,5 l. bottle, 2009 vintage. Dark brown colour with red hues. Small, light brown head that fades to a ring around the edges of the glass. Very complex aroma, a mixture of a sour ale and a porter - especially the yeasts: Ripe blue cheese, leather, sour berries, oak. For the porter notes: Coffee, smoked and chocolate. Primary dominates the sour ale flavor. Taste is medium sour, with a roasted sweet note in the background. Here I come to the main objection to this beer: These two styles mixed together is not that pleasant to drink, the flavor is not well balanced. Body is medium, maybe to thin for a porter. Creamy texture with an average carbonation. Long lasting finish with a sour, roasted and chocolate note. I really would like this beer, but the mixture of styles is not successful after my tastebuds.

A blend of coffee notes and slightly sour dishrag meets my nose, when I pop open this beer. The color is beautiful black, but the consistency of the beer is surprisingly watery. The taste is slightly acidic and - again - rather watery/weak. A different kind of stout for sure - and hard to describe. I’m glad I had a go at it, but the palate is too altmodisch for a post-modern hophead like me.

Bottle. A more or less black beer, topped by a small, tan head. Smoked nose with tar, a smokey sour hint and some alcohol. Would like it more pronounced, it’s quite weak. The flavor has some sourness and smoke, quite burnt too, leading to a short finish. Medium body, quite dry. A beer that lacks a bit on several things, but it’s quite interesting. 101015

Bottled. Dark brown color, medium head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, hint of vanilla. Bitter taste, coffee, wild yeast sourness. The wild yeast doesnt do the beer any good to be honest. I would love to taste a ’regular’ version with a yeast suited for the style, but thats my personal opinion. I think the base beer is excellent.

Bottled. The aroma has roasted malts, some vanilla, yeast. Hazy, dark brown coloured beer with a medium, off-white head. The taste is a bit bitter, has vinegar sourness/wild yeast character, roasted malts, coffee, vanilla. Medium body. Okay, but the wild yeast & porter remains a bit of an odd combination.

Pours dark brown with a dense and partly frothy brown head. Aroma of coffee, dark sugars and some lactic sourness. Flavor is quite surprising with a refreshing acidic bitterness yet with porter like flavors.
