COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When it was discovered that hops not only added bitterness and aroma to beer, but made it last longer too, British brewers created the IPA style to survive the long voyage to India, where her majesty’s thirsty troops awaited unspoiled ale. Twister Creek IPA combines the finest Pacific Northwest and British hops atop a foundation malty enough to balance its 71 IBUs. High octane, full-flavored, well-balanced. This is the beer you’ve been thirsty for.

Pint pour at stizmark, alyeska ski resort, Alaska. Murky orange pour, thin white head. Aroma is citrus hops, some grapefruit and spices with fruits and a bit floral. Flavor is nice bitter hops with decent fruits and a nice malty backbone. Pretty good.

Draft at brewery: Bright and deep golden. Very aromatic and inviting nose. Solid malt backbone. Super fruity and floral hops. Bold bitterness. Other notes of citrus (grapefruit mostly), grass, plant stems and perfume. Bitterness in the aftertaste is slightly astringent -- my only real complaint. But aside from that it’s a solid and tasty IPA.

Copper pour, good lacing. Citrus aroma. Nice malt backbone balanced with a good hoppy flavor. A clean finish without a lot of bitterness.

Copper glowing body with a very thin off-white head. Lightish hop aroma with a nice slightly fruity nose. Medium-bodied; Fairly typical brewpub IPA with some bitter notes, a relatively good balance of malt and hops and a fairly bitter hop finish. A typical beer that you’d expect from an operation this size, but nothing bad at all. Definitely worth trying and I’m happy I sampled this beer here! I sampled this pint on draught at the brewpub in Talkeetna, Alaska on 26-June-2010.

On tap @ Cafe Amsterdam. An English style IPA. Hazy rusty in color with a dense off white head. Sugary sweet aroma with some light herbal hop aroma. The flavor is very sweet and malty with just a touch of bitterness. Medium body with a syrupy mouth feel. Seems a bit sweet to me, got a little hard to drink at the end of the pint.
