BeerConnoiseur (10), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Apr 27, 2005 Updated: Sep 14, 2006 Pours a clear dark mahogany body with a foamy tan head. Chocolate and malty coffee aroma. Roasted malt richness with smoky demerara sugar notes finished nicely with a nutty dry bitterness. A Dunkel that lives up to its royal heritage. Cheers!
JesseM (361), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jun 10, 2008 On tap at the Castle in Kitchener. Nice dark brown, translucent, decent white head. This beer was REALLY good. Loaded with cereal grains and malty amazingness. That quintessential dark lager dark bread quality you find in a lot of Dopplebocks, but light and smooth. Some toffe and caramel as well, but very mild. I really hope this one will be brewed more regularly now that the brewery has relocated. I like this even more than the Weiss. Top notch stuff, and a great example of style that is not often seen in our province. Dark bread in a glass of beer! cyrenaica (265), Milton, Ontario, Canada May 16, 2008 550ml draught

I tried this beer on May 16, 2008 at "C’est What Restaurant" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark reddish brown with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, roasted malt, some sugar, and a little hoppish tone. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is sweet and has a nutty character to it. An excellent beer. robinvboyer (980), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada May 12, 2007 on tap at Victory last fall.
great roasty nuts aroma, great earthy nutty flavour, extremely well balanced like all denison beers i’ve had, another winner! Chris_Thomson (183), Luzern, Switzerland May 6, 2007 Had this one on tap at Volo many, many times. An brown-ruby colour with a perfectly balanced roasty, nutty flavour. mabel (1583), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 30, 2007 [277-20070422] Tap @ Volo (Toronto, ON). Grainy beery aroma. Clear, deep red brown body with a short-lived foamy off-white head. Grainy flavour has cherry notes, medium booze and a sweet finish. Medium body. A bit heavy for a sunny patio but nice and flavourful.
