473 mL can. Pours a pale cloudy peach with a thin white head. Aromas of peach, banana, clove, yeasty phenolics. Easy drinking with a medium body and high carbonation. A nice Canadian wheat.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Metalchopz (1744) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - APR 29, 2013
Single can from the LCBO. Pours a very cloudy, golden colour with an orange hue. Big frothy head, with decent retention (but not as much as the Krombacher weizen I had last night). Soapy lacing waving around. Malty wheat nose with some light spices and Belgian Ale yeast. Hints of citrus (oranges, lemons). Mild wheat flavours with notes of bananas and very light cloves in the finish. Goes down quite nicely and well-blended all-around. Smooth overall.

A true to style, pleasure to drink beer that I enjoy year round. Excellent aroma and taste, pleasing head retention and beautiful colour.

This is a pretty good weiss. Much more traditional than any I’ve tried in awhile. Not extremely potent in any once flavor, but exhibits that character you would expect of a weiss in moderation: cloves, banana, wheat, and coriander.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Amber_Lamps (6) - Alberta, CANADA - APR 12, 2013 does not count
Completely surprised by an Ontario brewer that I picked up this week from the LCBO for its quality in this style as this province is known for its reverse Midas touch on craft breweries.
A - Excellent frothy head which remained about one inch for the entire time to consume it (10 min). Cloudy and slight orange tinge which is consistant with this style.
S - Cloves, banana, and citrus aroma as described were pleasantly present. Hops are subtle.
T - slightly sweet with sour overtones from the citrus. The coriander, orange, and cloves come out on the palate which I greatly enjoyed. Wheat taste with some bread-like flavours.
M - Higher carbonation than I like for Weissbiers but defiantly not a point of contention. Medium bodied that ends with a creamy and slightly sour taste.
Overall: If you like Hoegaarden, you’ll love this. I am defiantly purchasing this again and will try to replicate it in my monthly all-grain home brewing.
Serving type: Can (500ml)
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2012
Draught at Barhop, Toronto Hazy deep blond color. The aroma is a bit rubbery, the flavor is breadish, the mouthfeel is smooth, low bitterness, and short final.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gramity (1054) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 28, 2012
On tap. Nice cloudy gold with small head that subsides to ring. Slight banana aroma. Mild to medium carbonation. Clean tasting but just a hint of breadyness and banana. Very nicely brewed but kind of meh.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 DuffMan (5189) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 6, 2012
Can. Medium golden, slightly hazy, average white head. Aroma is sweet and wheaty, with low spice. Palate is much the same. How the fuck does this score so high? This has MINIMAL classic hefe character at best. Barely any spicy yeast esters, barely any classic banana fruit esters, no bubblegum, no creamy mouthfeel, no towering merangue of a head. The fact that this scores in the top percentile for style is an insult to the excellent German hefeweizens out there. Maybe its better on tap? It would have to be a completely new beer experience from what I just had.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sask89 (326) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - JUL 9, 2012
Pours an extremely cloudy golden colour, with a thick creamy white head. Lighter aroma, with pronounced banana and clove scents. Taste is a light sweetness throughout. Light body, thin on the palate and a little under-carbonated. Overall an excellent wheat beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 LarryBeast (271) - - JUN 29, 2012
On draft. Pours hazy yellow with thick, frothy white head. Aroma of bread, yeast, cereal, banana, clove. Hearty taste, notes of sweetness. Clean and light. Not terribly distinct.
