But read on* Pours a cloudy orange-yellow, average creamy white head, excellent lacing - eye-catching. Nose is heavily malty-citrus, almost sweet - some hops and ash, with white wine and yeasty chemical notes too - very tempting, almost like a good shandy. Taste is slightly acidic/tart, with sweet and mild malt, ash, enough hops to balance the sweetness, and huge notes of orange, mango, banana. Light and refreshing in the mouth, pleasantly balanced average linger, a perfect - I mean PERFECT - summer beer. Best wheat beer I’ve tasted by far, perhaps not a purist’s weissbier though. Update January 2007 - after dozens of pints of this, I cannot in good conscience rate it below 4 - simply one of Canada’s consistently best beers; world class. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

Very nice looking wheat beer, being golden and hazy with a creamy white head. Head faded to a thin veil on top of the beer. Textbook weizenbier nose of bananas, wheat, and cloves. Clovey aromas are a bit more prominent here, which is nice. Full bodied and smooth, like liquid banana bread. Lingering, yeasty finish. Quite tasty. gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Veryy mellow taste with a citrus tone which is not very deep but very flavorful. Crisp clean finish with a subtle aftertaste. Best weissbier I have tried to date. Very easy drinking. joeec5 (204), bayonne, New Jersey, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 5, 2005 Wow... this is a wheat beer that is almost chewy in its flavour. There is a depth and richness to this wheat that is not typically present in the style. The banana flavour is quite strong, but not the only one, with other elements such as cloves and other spices. This beer is equally appropriate in the winter or the summer, as it is refreshing, yet substantial. A classic. JadoreBlanche (114), London, Ontario, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 1, 2005 On tap @ Volo. Great hazy yellow colour with a moderate white head. Fantastic aroma of lemons, cloves and bananas. Flavour is the same with each seeming to take its turn to predominate, delicous. Yeats is present in the flavour and in the somewhat doughy mouthfeel. Excellent beer. DerWeg (760), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 26, 2004 Updated: Jul 30, 2005Moderate head, lemony and yeast aroma. Solid cirtusy feel, zingy and almost thick, with a hint banana & some clove spice, balanced integrated sweetness and linger hint spice. Not over yeasty at all Paradoxically simple yet expressive. Seems a little different each time.
Had to re-rate this since it was sooo good for its style, I had a mediocre pint long ago and this last one compares to th best Germany trip pints I remember.
