Available only at the brew pub although this may change soon. This is the best Weizen I’ve had out of Ontario. Beautiful straw like colour with a very resilient head. Heavier on the banana/bubblegum and less cloves. This pub is a required stop for any beer hunter going through Toronto.

Pale cloudy, w/fine bubbles. Sweet banana, lemon and spice on the nose. Nice sparkle in the mouth, with a soft lingering finish. Banana spice, flowers, lemon, and vanilla flavors. One of my favorite Weissbiers yet!

Fantastic weiss beer. Murky rich yellow bursting with spice and banana. Robust banana and some malty sweetness, coupled with a bit of lemony zing, assault you in a scarily smooth way - beautifully balanced and eminantly drinkable. Really nice.

Draught @ beerbistro, Toronto: Wow! I have to say this beer’s reputation preceded it for me so I was already quite anxious to try it. Arrives a gorgeous yellow with an excellent foam head waiting for me. Aroma is all you can ask for with plenty of lemon and banana accompanied by generous abounts of wheat. Taste is perfectly well balanced from the first sip with only hints of clove and spice alongside hops behind the wheat and fruit. Sitting on the patio sipping this made my day, wouldn’t hesitate to have it again.

On tap at Shanghai Cowgirl - came with a dense two-finger head. Colour is an opaque gold, with some brightness at the edges. Aroma of yeast, banana, citrus fruits and some spices. Taste is much the same, hugely complex and a full body. Banana is surprising, delicious and not overpowering. I faintly tasted the cloves, but there was a general spiciness which nicely balanced the fruitiness of the banana and citrus. Gorgeous to look at, smell, and taste. My favourite hefeweizen - incomparable when fresh.

Tap. Pours a cloudy pale yellow. Looks like apple cider. Doughy scents with plum and apple notes, maybe grapes?!?. Not a heavy yeast flavour as some weissbiers I've had before have had. Finishes with a light body. I would like to have this again in a less smokey atmosphere.

This is easily my favourite Hefeweizen. In Toronto, this has the advantage over others in the style: fresh and local, not bottled and imported. It pours a hazy golden yellow, with a thick, frothy, pleasantly stubborn head. Wonderful citrus and banana aroma. Banana flavour is constant, with clove, citrus and subtle spices. Best pints poured at Cafe Volo.

Tap @ Smokeless Joe. Nothing like appropriate glassware to enhance the experience. Very nice looking wheat beer, being golden and hazy with a creamy white head. Head faded to a thin veil on top of the beer. Textbook weizenbier nose of bananas, wheat, and cloves. Clovey aromas are a bit more prominent here, which is nice. Full bodied and smooth, like liquid banana bread. Lingering, yeasty finish. Quite tasty.
